The shrinking & growing bat ears in the idle animation...

Why are the ears of the Vampire Bat shrinking and growing in the idle animation? Is this on purpose? if so, why?

I would say that it happens for all levels of bats not just vampire bat.

Uh... huh. One of those things I'm not sure if I've noticed before. I suspect it's on purpose to make the animation more lively, and while it does look goofy when you look very closely, it's not really something that I notice at my usual size/resolution/zoom levels.
