I've updated Archaic Era to 1.4.16 on the BfW 1.12 server. Mostly minor updates, but if it's not too much of a hassle, and if (for some strange reason) you are using the era, you should update.

I've also updated Archaic Resources. I think I'm going to split Resources into Music and Resources. The idea was to have the large sound files and files common to the campaigns Bad Moon Rising, Trinity, and the defunct Tales of the Setting Sun in one place to minimize the amount of redundant & wasteful data-transfer whenever one of the campaigns were updated. But I think it would be better to have the heavy Music files separate from the cross-campaign files, because cross-campaign terrain and macros need to be updated even if the heavy music files do not. But I didn't do it today.

BUG: After last update the Primeval faction can't access deep water at all (previously Cutters, Swiftfoots and Slowfoots could)

Strange... If I look at the unit file for the swiftfoot, for example, it was last modified in 2011, and the only change made to the primeval_race.cfg since 2011 was the description fluff. I open a local MP game, and primeval swiftfoot can access deep water just like I remembered...

So, I'm not seeing it. Maybe you have Ageless Era or something else interfering?

I'll look if ageless is isnatlled and if is, I'll try to uninstall and try, if this is caused by Ageless, I'll report it to them

EDIT: This bug is caused by Ageless Era and it causes some griphics issues with portraits too, reported http://forums.wesnoth.org/viewtopic.php ... 40#p573140

Will be fixed with next scheduled ageless update. On that point I will bring updates from archaic to ageless not only change names. However you didnt specify about portraits, what is with them?

In unit's detail in help the portrait has shrinked into about one quarter, the rest of original size was filled by black color

Also the Escort unit graphics was replaced

Hey guys, that's Ageless Era, doesn't belong in this thread. Sorry to be pedantic, but I don't want anyone to think I (or any other original era creators) have any direct role in Ageless Era. I understand and appreciate the goal of Ageless, but in some ways it is a pest.

1.4.17 has been uploaded to BfW 1.12 server. For MP players, it is a very minor update. It is more important for Bad Moon Rising SP campaign.

I've also updated Archaic Resources again. I haven't quite figured out how I'm going to redistribute things to avoid wasteful data transfer, so we'll just keep on wasting for now...

Archaic_Sounds v1.0.0 has just made its debut on the BfW server, it is the sound and music files from Archaic Resources. It was spun off so that I can update the WML and images in Archaic_Resources without forcing the players to needlessly re-download the heavy audio files.

Many generally useful terrains from the campaigns have been transferred to Archaic_Resources, so you will want to update that add-on if you use the campaigns.

Lastly, I made a level 5 unit for the khthon yak line, and uploaded Era version 1.4.18. The new yak is in the final scenario of campaign Bad_Moon_Rising, so you need to update if you are a campaign player, but for MP, you shouldn't notice much of a difference.

Oh, nice that was always my favorite unit line. It get's even more awesome! :D

1.4.19 has been uploaded, it's a very small update, but I want things to be in place for when BfW 1.12 is released, so please accept that there will be more updates as that is looming. I'm moving files around in all the various Archaic Era add-ons, my plan is to keep the core factions here in Archaic Era, then put all the hopelessly unbalanced extra units and races in Archaic Resources.

I'm going to make another thread for Archaic Resources.

I've been playing Bad Moon Rising, one bug I noticed is that the Ukian Regular doesn't have a "miss" sound in it's attack, it always sounds like they are hitting.

Some other units are lacking sounds too, like the leader's sword.

1.4.20 has been uploaded to the BfW 1.12 server. I think I've fixed some bugs with Khthon-related things. Unfortunately, it seems I completely forgot to address the Ukian animation sloppiness that Crow_T pointed out; I will fix that next time.

1.5.0 has been uploaded to the BfW 1.12 server. It includes the new faction Menagerie, which is a compilation of the enemies from Trinity Part 2 fighting for the campaign 'boss' named Seth. It is not at all well balanced, and some of the sprite graphics are pretty clearly place-holders (most obvious is Ladyboy line). This is my preliminary attempt at explaining the faction:

Mechs: The hovering drones are like across between Cavalrymen and Dwarf Thunderers. The Cyborgs are a stronger, higher-maintenance version of Walking Corpse.
Blue: A human race with magic, but more advanced than standard Wesnothians. The Technician line is mixed fighter, the lizards are supposed to be like armored reptile dogs: for the level 2, think of the beast that chases down Rick Moranis's character in Ghost Busters crossed with an armored Gila Monster crossed with a bull. Maybe the Technician line can heal the Mech Drones? (cannot for now).
Tower: Slaves to sybarites. Can't expand on that for now.

I think I still need to fix the things Crow_T mentioned... I swear, I'll remember to fix that at some point.

1.5.1 has been uploaded to the BfW 1.12 server. I've put some work into faction "Menagerie", it has a couple more units and branches. I played a local game against the AI, as Menagerie (Me) vs South-Seas (AI) on "Arcanclave Citadel", and think I would have gotten my ass kicked if I were playing against a human, so they may be underpowered. The angle on the faction (aside from aesthetics) is to have a choice of cheap, level 0 units and elite, expensive units and not much in between.
