Well, I've decided to replay this campaign few weeks ago, and I found a few more things to add and correct, and so I'm uploading version 0.4.7 :-)
Also, in two days it'll be a full year since I first published this campaign, and in these 12 months A Song of Fire had more than 7100 downloads, being the second most downloaded campaign in the 1.11 server; thus, I'd like to thank again all those who spent their valuable time playing it ^_^

Code: Select all

Version 0.4.1:
        -------------------
-units
   -Added recruiting animation for Myra
-Added healing animation for Myra and Alenya
-Reduced Myra's movement in 1 hex (valid only for her 3 first levels)
-Akashia now gets Leadership ability in scenario 32

-scenarios
-Balanced starting gold for player's side in most scenarios
-Added flag types to enemy sides in most scenarios
-The Wilderness: Reduced number of villages
-Legend Of The Water Dragon: reduced number of villages
Author of the Dragon Trilogy.

I used to play Battle for Wesnoth a couple of years ago and decided to pick up the game again around Christmas. I had already played most of the campains available in the standard version of the game so I downloaded 'A Song of Fire' out of curiousity and, honestly, chosing a bit at random.
I just finished it and absolutely loved it! It reminded me why I enjoyed Battle for Wesnoth in the first place but I also enjoyed all the variety of units, maps, the story and most of all, the characters. I realise this forum is more geared towards feedbacks that can actually help improve the game and fine tune scenarios but I had so much fun playing your campain that I decided to create an account here and let you know!
I just downloaded the War of the Jewel and I'm looking forward to playing it. Thanks for your fantastic work. :D

I'm really glad that you enjoyed it so much! And thank YOU for playing it! ^_^ War of the Jewel has more story than A Song of Fire, but I hope you find it just as enjoyable - or even more enjoyable - to play! ;)

RL has been growing increasingly busy lately, and a lot of my free time is being dedicated to the making of the Dragon Trilogy's third and final part, but I managed to find some time to revising ASoF and porting it to version 1.12. Version 0.5.0 is the first one on the 1.12 server, and comes with many corrections. ;-)

Here goes the changelog:

Code: Select all

Version 0.5.0:

- Units:
  - Veela now has a slowing cipher attack as a Rune Forger; also, corrected her missing attack animation for Runeforger
  - Added royal titles to the names of some characters
  - Some changes to Maat's resistances
  - Dvalin may now recruit from scenarion 'The Sky Dragon Descends' onwards, though he may only recall dwarvish units
  - Removed Liliel's hero icon when she first appears
- Scenarios:
  - Some changes to playlist in certain scenarios
  - Rise of the Dragons: added harming animation for Maat
  - The Kalian of Garet-Desh: Some changes to dialogue
  - Legend of the Water Dragon: Replaced deprecated 'target' tag with 'goal'; slight changes to dialogue
  - Burning Revenge: Slight changes to map
  - Twilight of the Kingdoms: Changed ammount of gold enemies receive as reinforcements depending on difficulty
  - Farewell, Part 1: Reduced number of enemies that spawn; added new sound fx for explosion;
  - Ashes of the War: Corrected bug which caused Assix to advance twice if defeated by anyone other than Myra.
  - Ring of Fire: Corrected missing Atargatis' portrait in one of the dialogues.
  - The Sun Path: Other sides now start with 0 gold, and only receive it when sighted.
- Story:
  - Some changes to dialogue
- Terrain:
  - New type of wall
 - Others:
-Added new images for watery underground and sacred dawn schedules

So i've been enjoying this campaign quite a lot, but i think i've got a bug: Playing on 1.11.13, most recent version.
When reaching "Burning revenge", my leaders aren't recalled. I only get Myra and Varthan, although the story says the others should be there, and also the objectives are speaking about them.
Also, is it normal that i can't recall my army?

Absolutely not normal; I'll see what could be causing this... :hmm:

If possible, give me the file 'ASoF-Legend of the Water Dragon.gz', I'll play the whole scenario, as the origin of the problem might be there ;-)

Weird, I uploaded ASoF to the server from the 1.11.12 version... I suppose this one is already part of the 1.12 branch, or are the 11.12 and 11.13 connected to different servers...? Anyway, I have just downloaded version 1.11.13, I'll iinstall it and see what may be happening...

BTW, Raijer, I will give a look at that bug today, finally I found some free time to do that ;-)

Ok it's there now though your other campaigns aren't. Maybe it was some sort of glitch, IDK.

That's because I haven't uploaded the all yet ;-)

Ok, I just wasn't sure if it was supposed to be there or not. I have one short campaign to finish and then this looks like it will take me quite some time. Looks interesting though. :)
