Graphic Hunting
I'm looking around for additional graphics for some of the less important races and wondered if anyone had any pointers on where to look. I've been clicking on various campaigns and eras on units.wesnoth.org, but that's quite a lengthy process.
The races I'm interested in are trolls (though I do have quite a few of those already which I haven't even started looking at, I could still use some better ones especially of the whelp style), saurians, nagas, and either woses or something that logically fits with them (I don't like the cactose that I saw somewhere, though). I could use a couple of drakes as well.
It might be nice to have some more gobins and maybe even some bats or ogres, but that's really not important.
I know of some campaigns I can look at, such as Swamplings and Roar of the Woses, though I can't recall the names of every campaign I checked out for graphics. At some point the fallback will have to be to just methodically go through every campaign on units.wesnoth.org until I find some, but if I can delay that or even make it unnecessary, that would be nice. (Besides which, some campaigns may not even be listed there, due to either errors from wmlunits generating the tree, not being ported to 1.10, or not even being officially released; the Troll Alliance era, for example, exists only as an attachment somewhere on the forums).
(I'm primarily looking for sprites here, rather than portraits. Portraits may be nice, but they're useless without sprites.)

An awesome drake by Zerovirus(not animated)

There's a level 3 ogre in The Legend Begins, I'm not sure who it's by.
Fossil by Hulavuta has various new saurians. Also, Midnight carnival: http://forums.wesnoth.org/viewtopic.php ... t=saurians
More drakes from Children of the Dragons: http://forums.wesnoth.org/viewtopic.php ... t=saurians
And, of course, for saurians and drakes, here's Neorice:

High over valleys in the red levelling rays -
In din of crowded streets, going among the years, the faces,
May I still meet my memory in so lonely a place
Between the streams and the red clouds, hearing the curlews, Hearing the horizons endure.

Re: Graphic Hunting
Perhaps I should have mentioned that I'm looking for units, rather than portraits; the Children of Dragons thread is primarily portraits (although I did find an interesting sprite on the last page which may be useable).
I see Neorice has a few trolls as well, though I'm not sure if they'll be useful.
(For my future reference, a link to The Legend Begins, since it's currently missing from units.wesnoth.org.)

Children of the dragons page 4 has some sprites.
Ah...so you found my favourite sprites of all time?

True, but not as good as the ones on the last page.Kanzil wrote:Children of the dragons page 4 has some sprites.
Ehehe. I did see the troll with the fan; I don't think I saw the other two. I wasn't exactly looking closely. In any case, I would not use those ones. Sorry.Kanzil wrote:Ah...so you found my favourite sprites of all time?

Hm, I don't seem to see such a thing in The Legend Begins...Kanzil wrote:There's a level 3 ogre in The Legend Begins, I'm not sure who it's by. Fully animated as well.
Note: Still looking, mainly for saurians and nagas.
Re: Graphic Hunting
The passing of Barus, defending Korutag and Ogres and Goblins all have great ogres(they're quite far in).Hm, I don't seem to see such a thing in The Legend Begins...

Re: Graphic Hunting
Took me a little while, but I figured it out. The unit doesn't exist in The Legend Begins; it's referenced from the War of Legends era which I presume is a dependency of The Legend Begins.

Re: Graphic Hunting
TSoG has lots of troll graphics that are worth looking at (War banner and white whelp in particular), as does TEG (More shamans). TSoG also boast L3 ogres and a few naga sprites.
Brave wings has a couple of new drakes.
EoMa has lots of animated saurian units, but they don't all have the same art style of standard saurians (although still worth a look - saurian cavalry is good at all times).
Beyond "natural" creatures (Khalifate falcons, Boars from the founding of borstep, and wild horses from Fate of a Princess - and a few more I can't think of right now) I don't know what could work with woses.

Re: Graphic Hunting
Not sure if these'll be of much use to you, but I thought I'd post them anyways (spoiler'd for potential largeness):
The "saurian child" was something done by artisticdude, and the flare is something I've been working on recently. The ogres are by Monroid and Vranca, respectively. And, if you're looking for goblins, the Promised Land campaign art thread (http://forums.wesnoth.org/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=29354) has lots of great stuff.
Hope that helped.

Re: Graphic Hunting
It doesn't help when you post acronyms if I don't know what they are. Dwarved_Void, what's "TEG"? Or EoMa? Amorphous, do any of those already have animations? (I already found the Great Ogre and thus know that it doesn't.)

EoMa : Era of Magic
TEG: The Earths Gut
And amorphous' Great Ogre is the same as TSoG's, which is fully animated (IIRC)

Because Era of Myths (EoM) came first.

Re: Graphic Hunting
You have a whole Naga faction in Return of the Monster campaign. One obvious place for additional saurians is Roar of the Woses.
