Killed all liches on Princess' Revenge!

Post by lipk »

This scenario has always been my greatest enemy. It defeated me countless times when I firstly played HttT. When I finally got through it, my army was nothing but a shadow of its old self. With time, I learned how to survive it without losing the greater half of my army, but never, until today, could I take my revenge on those hellish liches.

Today, I killed them all.

I started a fresh HttT (normal difficulty) so that I could build up my whole army with only the Great Purpose in mind. Thanks to the hard work, a clever plan (and a healthy amount of luck) I finally defeated all enemy leaders in 12 turns. Without saveloading, no less.

It was hilarious to watch that old replay on a 1.10 client... broken saves can do funny things :lol2:

Good for you.
I have never killed all liches, only the southern one.
My tactic here was to make a lot of units and move left because they never attacked me from all sides on that way, only from right side.
My healers was behind and any harder wounded unit will go there to heal up and so for few days and then i won.
And allways i do it on that way and allways i win.

Pretty sure I killed them all first time... though I was playing on Easy, so maybe that's why.

I just watched it. I have no idea what just happened. Only 2 liches were dead and all sorts of weird things were happening during the battle...
I am of two minds; I shall be complete when I can bring them into harmony.

Yes this one was tough. After replaying about ten times I finally killed all three on normal difficulty. My strategy Was to send out two small "assassination" teams and take the rest of my army to the third lich. One of my teams is just delamnor with a shaman for support. Delamnor is badass.. He can take out a lich all by himself. The other team has three of my level 3 units. The trick is to send them on side paths to avoid the bulk of the army as they head for you castle and chase your main army. The holy water helps a little too.
