Perhaps not the most productive or objective comment, but I'm wondering why the spikes on his shoulders are blue?

Oh, okay, now I get it. That sounds cool.
Love the way you did the eyes on the ghoul, BTW... it really creeps me out.

That ghoul looks really creepy! Nice work! The only negative thing I can say about it is, are those stitches? Typically I don't think anyone would stitch a ghoul up. Also, the stitching seems a bit too neat.

The stitching is holding it together. It may have done it itself or had an undead comrade do it. This seems perfectly okay to me.

Or it's part of the mysterious process of MAKING it. It's present in the sprite series, it's fine.

I like the stitches, but i'll agree with telaron... I think it would be better if they wern't as regular/neat/close

I absolutely love the shield emblem! Just a small thing, that you are probably aware of: the magic glow reflects on the viewer's left, but there are no blue highlights on the right.

Two things:
The shaft of the axe seems awefully short.
Shouldn't the hilt of the sword/dagger sticking out of the skeleton's chest be behind the blade of the axe rather than in front. Looks really weird to me right now.

Shouldn't only the black paint be "dripping" from the emblem?
I guess the sceptre has been originally there so it was probably painted proffessionaly and just the black paintover has been done by the skeleton or his necromancer...

You are an Orcish Grunt: cheap, powerful, but effective.

Just hadn't gotten to the rest of the shaft yet. As for the sword, I kinda like it where it is. It would be awfully strange to consider a convenient place to be stabbed. May cause a little tension in the portrait, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.seb wrote:Two things:

Sometimes I need to leave stuff out like that to avoid over saturation of a color. If I recognized all of the blue reflections I *should* have, then he'd look a bit more like a smurf. Good eye though. I added in a little more here and there to try to find a happy medium.Thrawn wrote:I absolutely love the shield emblem! I think he's about ready to outline. Not sure what to do with the blue skeleton version. I guess if anyone has a use, feel free to go ahead. Maybe it can be a special talking skeleton portrait.
Edited with fixes specified in TSI's below post. Also, I don't think I want to really add a cape to this. It feels rather complete as it is and putting cloth behind him would ruin the silhouette. Thoughts?

Re: Valkiers portraits: I assure you, we are open
The sword in the chest: i didn't even notice it was there until someone pointed it out, because of the tangent it has with the ribs and arm, and the colour match between the hilt and armour. You're welcome to keep it, that kind of thing add to the 'unkillable machine' feel - but change the angle so that it sticks out, rather than down. Having it stuck perpendicular between two ribs would allow it to stick straight out from the chest, and would make a little more sense, as swords thrust like that woudl tend, i believe, to be perpendicular to, not parallel with, the ground. Otherwise, certainly improving.
