No. If you're playing online as elves as green the enemy has a 10% chance of not noticing your elvish archer.
And some say if you play black as dwarves your chance to hit is doubled. :)
Also if you name a Wose treebeard your enemy will note the name and start talking about LOTR, and thus be distracted.

This reminds me of that silly post by the player who was convinced that the team color influenced how well he did in a game.

My belief is that if join a Player Vs Player game and choose the colors Red, Blue, Green, Teal, Purple, Orange, Grey, White, or Black, I will lose.

You start having as much fun clicking as you used to rolling 20 sided dice.

Nope... it would just kill them for me, listening them to Death.

It doesn't mean you have to listen to them non-stop, it just means you have them available if you felt like it outside of the game. ;)

Been there done that, I actually have them playing in a 1st person shooter game called Unreal Tournament 2004.

I can be surrounded with explosions, gunfire and stressed voices coming over the microphones, whilst in the background, the wesnoth music sings softly...

Seriously, the wesnoth music is a perfect companion to real-time sniping.

1140: You walk down a darkened street, and along the road comes a group of thieves, brutes, and thugs. When they move menacingly towards you, you decide to use your illuminates ability, and then charge them down. So, armed with lightbulb and screwdriver, you attack.
Later, as the white coated man with the heals+8 ability is talking to you, you wonder how you lost.
