Her head seems really small. We don't see her feet, so I can't count exactly, but it looks like she'd be 8 or 9 heads tall. 7 heads is a more normal height. It's not that she's excessively tall, though - her width and height seem pretty much right, proportion-wise. Her head just need to be made 10-20% bigger, IMO.

I like that shirt!
I have to agree with Turuk about the armor connections, though--I really feel like there needs to be a connector under her arm. Otherwise, wouldn't it hang straight down below her chest, rather than sticking so close to her body?
Also, I'm finding it hard to read as cloth armor... Leather, I could believe (I have some bits of ancient leather and buckskin that have vaguely that texture--Though possibly a few more cracks), but for cloth, I feel like it would need to have a little bit more of a padded look, like this or this :hmm:
(Otherwise, it just looks like two layers of fairly thick cloth stacked on top of each other, which doesn't make for very good protection AFAIK)
Also, shouldn't her belt be a little tighter/higher up? The first thing I thought when I saw it--Combined with the way her shirt bellies out--was "She's three months pregnant?" ;)
Though, if you were aiming for this look, you hit spot-on, so no worries.
Lastly, her left sleeve appears to "float" above her arm--I really feel like it should conform to her shoulder and tricep a little more.
Anyway, great job! I can't wait to see your next update! :D
(...Now that I think about it, it was probably my favorite campaign, too...)

ok, first to clear up the cloth issue, it's refering to the blue bit going across her shoulder (it's a bag strap), not her armour (the arrows were drawn on the same layer as the sketch, so when I duplicated the sketch layer and started painting over it, I had to cut off the arrows where they ran into the painted area). If it's not obvious that the armour is leather then I really need to work ok it :?

About the back and front not being held together, that would be because I forgot to draw the lacing that holds them together in the sketch :augh: , I went with lacing because it leaves that side open to attack (again showy armour, not practical).

I'm not sure what you mean about the connectors being ambiguous, their purpose looks clear enough to me... (I assume that your talking about the metal connectors between the shoulder pads and the front section) I'll try to make their purpose more obvious though.

about her head, I forgot that I'd downsized her hair in order to get the perspective on it right, I'll scale the whole thing up to compensate so that it's back to the size of the sketch.

And seriously, she looks pregnant :augh: , definitely not what I was going for, I'll see what I can do about making her belly flatter.

left sleeve, yep, my bad, gotta fix that.

Ah, I guess I was ambiguous about them. :P Their purpose was clear to me too, but it was hard for me to get an idea of what they were, like is it a metal bar that connects the two pieces, is the bar curved up, is it flat, is it slotted so the ends go over and under the leather with a pin that slides through the holes to go through the leather, keeping it in place? I magnified the picture a bit outside of the forum and I can see the hole at each end to show that something is pinning it in place though, so maybe just make it a bit more noticeable?

Gah, now you tell me  , oh well, some quick changes to the changes that I made makes them decorative.

Anyway, I think that I have most of the issues fixed now.

I'm not an artist, but she doesn't look pregnant for me. Her chest is pressed by the armour, so it seems that the inferior part (sorry for not remembering the word) pushes a bit out. I found it quite beautiful.
It is ok to correct me if my English is too bad.

:hmm:
Better, but I think the main problem was/is the belt--Maybe move it up a little?
Also, something feels weird about the edging on her left sleeve; I think it's that it stays pretty much the same width in all visible places--Shouldn't it be foreshortened a little on the vertical part?
Anyway, great work! Looking better and better :D

Holy crap, I managed to restrain myself from posting my progress for a whole 3 days

@ off topic:(even more holy crap is that I managed to not get distracted for two days by the xbox when I got home on Friday, and not only did I finish this, but I wrote myself my first working Java program to replace file names and string within files within the data structure of my campaign, oh, and I didn't sleep last night either)

@sharply veering back on topic:

Teresa iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiisssss, close enough to done that the remainder will be done later and I'm gonna move onto the next one (assuming that you guys don't find any glaring errors):

I'm probably most proud of the bag on her leg (note that in this instance the word bag doesn't also refer to the strap holding the bag on) and the hand above said bag

Also, for those that are interested: Full size version:

Nice job! Your painting keeps getting better every time I see more of it :D
I like that bag too... Though, as you implied, the strap is a little off; the angle it's at in relation to her leg is strange: It's not going straight across her leg, but rather is hanging at an angle, which would be sort of okay... Except that the bag is at the top of said angle :hmm:
I think it would look great if you changed the angle there--Should be a fairly easy fix :)
Anyway, great job! I look forward to seeing what you do next.

yeah, that strap... Can't believe I didn't notice how wrong it is :annoyed: *facepalm*

I'll probably re-do it with a buckle and a thinner bit of leather

Cool. You've got a good bunch of skillz with the clothing texture - it looks awesome. Can't really give much critic for this, which is an achievement on it's own. The knife (especially the the handguard) is still a little plain, but I guess it's acceptable concerning the quality of the rest of the portrait.

If I can catch you before you have done too much work on fixing the bag/strap, I would say to watch the way the fabric of her pants bunches up over the strap. It is currently very uniform, as if she put the strap around her leg and then sat there to pull up the same amount of fabric all the way across to make it even. The lack of bunching on the bottom below the strap (folds pushed together from the tightness) adds to this effect slightly as well.

hmm, I forgot about the dagger, and it really does make sense for it to be more ornate, I'll go back and re-do the handle (I've got a pretty good idea of what to do).

also I just noticed that the wrist of the hand closest to us is thicker than the hole in the end of the bracer, so I'll have to go widen that. Her expression needs changing (after seeing it in game she does look slightly too dispontent, some of her dialogue is too... bantery for it), and I forgot to add stitching on the inside of her leg (duh);

oh, and I need to draw the bottom of her bag visible between the arm closest to us and her body

ugh, this is what I get for submitting stuff whilst operating on caffine alone, too much forgetfulness.

will post fixes in a bit

@Turuk: aaaand gp, I'll try to fix that too

The lighting and three-dimensionality work quite well, and the clothing design is nice, but I must agree with what Turuk said earlier about her expression being vacant, even to the extent that it makes her look more like a mannequin than alive. :?
