Thanks. I'll keep working on it a bit. I think most idle animations should not to be too spectacular. After all it's just what the units are doing when they are bored. But I think seeing a skeleton reassemble its limbs is also fun ;)

Yeah, I already thought of this, too. But considering that I'm not too good at pixeling hair... Perhaps I'll give it a try. It seems to me that many campaigns need more art.

I like it. But it looks like she is scratching her stomach. Keep up the good work! :D

So what about this? Tried to make her hand more defined, added some frames. Now she is shocked to see dust on her dress and quickly brushes it off. I fear it's still not obvious enough. Also noted some quirkiness at her elbow. Shadow needs to be redone in all frames. Please ignore the flashing sword and palette (forgot to remove it for the gif).

Personally, I'd say the animation is very fitting, well done and to me it was obvious that she brushed some dust off her dress even on the first image and before I read the text. To sum it up again: I like it!

(Of course the second version is definitely to be preferred.)

OK, redone her left arm because it looked odd how she held her sword. Created shadows, fixed some things. Fixes to parts I overlooked are welcome. Here's the zipped animation with the patched Princess.cfg from v1.4.3.

Orcish assassin idle animation committed. Nothing done with the standing - for now. Would like to do those, eventually, but I'm not gonna mess with those for now.

Errr... sorry to ask, but is my contribution worth to commit? I'd be happy to fix some more things if needed :hmm:

Oh, yeah, I committed that a few days ago. Just forgot to mention it here.

Is there something like a grand idle animation list? Was wondering when the female Human Mage line idle animations would be completed. They've been really bugging me - the female sprite would suddenly change to having a male idle animation... or perhaps it could be removed until something else is completed?

I worked around that behavior in 1.5.x, but 1.4.7 does not contain the fix.

The sprites are basically there for you to edit. No one in mainline is working on it at the moment, to my knowledge.

Don't know how to animate it, perhaps someone here would oblige..?
It's probably pretty crappy, but you get the idea at least.

Thanks Turuk. What software do I need to open the files you created?

How did it look in motion? Any good ? Is it worth developing?

I actually just did it quick and easy in Pixen so you can see it, but that's not the best program to work on an animation in. Once you unzip it you can probably view it using the same program you used to create it. It does not look bad, but could probably do with a couple more frames, maybe one more in the smoke rings to make the ring seem to float longer and one more for recovery.
