Thanks.
Its a good start :) though there are a few things to improve with it:

-It looks very 2D, add shading especially on the white should solve this.
-The spear shaft is not very well defined. Giving the sides a slightly darker edge will define it a little better.
-The spear head is a little too big. I'd recommend making it a little smaller

Like I said its a very good start, great improvment on the previous Hunter

Ahh, I see. Thank you, Quietus.

Did this fix it? And is there further things that should be fixed? Thanks again.

-Edit-

Touched him up a bit, stuck him on snow terrain. I'm starting work on his animations, unless anyone has any more comments.

Ah much better.

There's no obvious flaws, the only way perfect then sprite is to play it in game and see what things are out of place

Uh, am I the only one who think the sprite's legs are rather short?

Judging by where the belt is, and assuming the shirt hangs down a bit, the legs don't look so short. To me at least.

Right--the boots go up to his knees, his legs go up just below his belt.

Next in line is... the Archer sprite!!! Not as bad as the Hunter, but still needs plenty of work. ATM, he's based off the Javelineer, which I may need to change. So along with normal comments, if anyone has any concept ideas, I'd be happy to hear them. :)

These are all part of a race of humans called Wyrenthi--not a full blown faction, but enough units to support The Raven's Wings campaign. These were castaways on an archipelago in the far north. So they keep some elements of normal human culture, but there are major differences (the Bards, especially, which are similar to mages). Anyway, just some background.

Thanks for your input. :)

I'm a little confused by what is going on with his left side. Maybe more shading to his shirt and pants will clear that up.

His shadow is too sharp, I think the thin parts will disappear with a Gaussian blur.

As I understand it, parallel lines are not usually a good idea unless it's part of a machine or structure. Change the angle at which he's hold that arrow, so it's not parallel to the bow.

Hope that helps.

The shadow shouldn't be solid black, i know you know this from your hunter sprite. As it is now it just distracts from the rest of the sprite and makes it look messy. Why not just erase it and put in a shadow when you're more finished with him?

I usually make my shadows at early stage as well, but blur them as soon as possible. Of course, it can distract me from the main sprite, which is why I keep all of them layered in a XCF file (GIMP, for Photoshop it would be PSD).
