The sword blade looks good, but it doesn't line up with the handle. Bring the blade out a little, probably two pixels. I'm not sure about the shorts, though. Long, loose trousers would probably look better.

Why you remove its legging? When you have too much heat outside you want to have a lot of capes of leather/silk to cover your body for the sun radiation (its works in a similar fashion as the Thermos (bottle, flask to preserve the temperature of the liquid inside)
The model that was used for the captain was the tuareg?/desert nomads as far as I can remember. and would be a good idea to base the desert elves from those.
About shields, I think that you could get some ideas from the Kalifa faction, while they aren't exactly from desert, they are at least more aproximated than african tribes (these live more near jungles, etc...)

I don't really think an African shield would work out. I was thinking of something a bit more arabian, although most of the arabian shields I can find don't work out.
I've given him silk leggings (or at lest I tried) and brought the blade forward a bit.

The shield is in a different perspective than the sprite holding it. (look at how the shield is curved on the normal elf sprite and try to rotate the one you have on your mind to get a better perspective of how it should look, even tought it is hard).

At some point in the progression his hair got blurred... you should probably recopy it from the base Fighter, especially since he has that TC headband, and TC is notoriously fiddly about being blended with other colors.
Otherwise, looks awesome.

Actually, you could use the head from this one, but yeah, megane is right:megane wrote:At some point in the progression his hair got blurred... you should probably recopy it from the base Fighter, especially since he has that TC headband, and TC is notoriously fiddly about being blended with other colors.

Is the sword blade located directly above its hilt? It looks off to me. [EDIT] Which I now notice that SpaceInvader pointed out already[/EDIT]
I would also probably lower the shield a pixel or two.
It's looking a big improvement so far, though!
[EDIT] And since I can't resist fiddling with things... I'm not 100% happy with either of these, but maybe someone can do something with them.

Hm... the default leg position was better. Now it seems like he's cowering behind his sword, rather than being battle-ready. Kind of looks pigeon-toed, too. The entire lower body is a bit blurry, too.
Also... can't really see what his free arm is doing. It seems like it's being kept near the body as though to prepare a punch or simply to act as a last-ditch shield for the torso.
I'm not sure how well tattoos would show up. At most they would be three pixels or so, and it might just end up screwing up the face instead.

The cloak isn't too apparent. In fact, it looks like he's simply wearing a robe, with no cloak at all.Federalist marshal wrote:I removed the shield and gave him a cloak, or at least I tried.
What I plan to do next:
-Give him some tattoos (after removing bandana)
-Tan his skin
