Re: Campaign download was sucessfull but i can't find it
Presumably you didn't download a campaign but some other add-on. Which one was it? Note also that you generally need to restart wesnoth after installing an add-on in order for it to work.Fiffy wrote:i get the message download sucessfull but then i can't find the campaign in the list. I am having the same problem, downloading add-ons.
How can I see which one is a campaign, and which one is an add-on?
It isn't really clear to me (note: I am a _user_ not a technical person )
more info:
I checked the folder on my system where the campaigns are stored It shows some folders (14) and some loose files (also 14) , which seem to be the "campaigns" I thought I had installed.
I did install them, but they don't show in my wesnoth when I open it.
What is the use of these files? what can I do with them? or should I just don't download them?
It would be nice if the difference is clear for users.
Perhapse this thread can make it more clear thanks!

I didn't realise that it isn't a campaign. What should i Do with it then?
It isn't clear to me what is a campaign and what isn't.
And I've been playing wesnoth for quite some time.
Like i said: it probably has something to do with me being a real _user_, and have no clue how wesnoth works from the technical piont of view.
In the older version I just downloaded Campaigns, now they are called: add-ons.

There are basically two of different add-ons on the campaigns server (which is just called campaign server but does not actually contain only campaigns). One kind of them are singleplayer content ("Campaigns") while the other kind of them is multiplayer content (one kind of multiplayer content again are "eras" new units and factions which you can chose for multiplayer games).
It might help to access campaigns through the web interface and read the descriptions of them but basically it is impossible to find out which kind of add-on you are going to download if you don't know what it is.
