More than 4 hours later I finished the Clearwater Port in turn 26 using the third ship.
I only recalled my L2 units, turn by turn when I had money.
All my units advanced to L3 in this scene.

The key position is the north gate in the river:
The enemy must not come to enter the land.
It is simple to hold with two rouges and the princess. Placing them into the water where they have a resistence 40% and only one enemy can attack. Rotate them when wounded.
Do not attack by your self, only finish wounded enemies. If you attack, the enemy has more chances to hit you back and you must retreat and your defence brakes.

Some time the fight at my west front was very critical because the opponents had a more than three times greater force .

Do not set a Irom Mauler in the two wall hex in the nord. They can be blocked and killed very easy there - Secure the fields with GK ore Royal Guards with more moving points.

Dont try to go forward and leave the walls. Even if you have a short time success they will kill you a little later.

Now let me fight the Lich Lord with no losses.

I usually use Burin, Jessica, and the knight to hold this position, with Haldiel joining them if they are having trouble when he's done recruiting.
It's all fun and games until someone loses a lawsuit. Oh, and by the way, sending me private messages won't work. :/ If you must contact me, there's an e-mail address listed on the website in my profile.

In first view this may be a great idea:
Spearman castle defence 60%, near and distance attacks - the one and only defence unit.
This will be a very interesting fight sitting in castle and waiting for the enemy.

But in campaigns you have to collect experiance to advance all units to L3
Exactly. When I was done, they were four royal guards and two swordsmen.

Now I finished the "Rough Landing"

I think its absolut no fun to play this with no losses.
Nagas has such high aggressivity and resistence in water its nearly imposible to stay alive after tree attacks.

After many tries with my veterans I recruited 14 mairman
With the additional help of two MoL and my leader I came to victory in round 15.
But I had to test for about 6 hours to come from turn 8 to 14.

Victory had been possible only because the enemy leaders left the towers and attackt me. Nearly all of my units had been wounded and they wouldnt had survived for another single turn.

How I said. This was absolut no fun.

Yeah, that level carries bad memories. Using Merman Hoplites worked okay.

GAME OVER

Post by hochbass »

Now I found my limit.

Troll Cave quest in my opinion is unwinable with 100 Gold.
In the greatest battle against trolls I ever had.
I managed to survive all of my units. I killed the blue leader and than I run out of time.

I recalled my most effectiv veterans
This had been my party:

My Noble Lord Leader
Mý Outlaw Queen
2x Mages of Light,
1x GreatKnight ( very useless and with a terrible death wish)
2x ArchMages
2x Iron Mauler

I do not know any other way to play as I dit.

But it seems like there is a great bug in the replay system.
The replay shows a korupt file-error every turn.

On the other way:
What quest should I begin when I only have 100 Gold?
I did the Saurian Isle on easy with 100 Gold last time, but this had been not a little easier.

If you want a big tip on this, I can give one. However it's something of a spoiler.

OK going first to the Isle of Death and I won with about 300 Gold

If you know what to do, you can finish this in turn 6.
But you need a little spoiler.

Running fighting like a berserker against the Saurians wins with a 125Gold

The saurians are very easy if you do this
My army 4x GK, 4x Assasine , 2x MoL
Hurry up to the south west, conquer the castle, kill the leader and recall mairman-veterans
The 300 Gold make this possible.

Now I stand before the same problem:

Dragon or Trolls with 125 Gold.

I do not think one of them is winable without losses.
Perhaps the dragon if
...you ignore all enemies
... wake up the dragon and retreat
... the dragon attacks the others.
But how to manage this?

You shoul do the trolls first, you need less units there.
First read, then think. Read again, think again. And then post!

@toms
With less units they kill my GreatKnight very easy. How can he survive
Can you give me some hints how to play against the trolls?

I upgraded to 1.18

I tryed again to clean the Troll Cave.

Because of the only 125 Gold I have to recall the loyal Iron maulers .
So I can have an additional Great Mage

I was defeated again because out of time.
I think its not winable with 33 turns.

There may be a chance to win within perhaps 45 turns
The green enemy has allway more than 15 units and recruits like hell.

Have a look at the replay, best look turn by turn. What do you think about?
I cant find no mistake in my turns.
After turn 13 I 'm in great danger and have to retreat.
May be I should go to south earlier as I did.

I think there should be mad a little ballance in difficulty...
