i suggest taking away the front two castle spaces. That way player 2 will be able to get all the villages on their side in one turn and not be harrassed by player 1
I got lost in thought, it was unknown territory.

2 Chambers is terribly unbalanced. Massive first player advantage, large Saurian/Drake advantage.

That one looks better, though I'd put the mermen village somewhere is, so it can act as a bridge between the keep and the center of the map. Now, it is between a mountain and a cave wall, and I'm not sure it's a good idea.

Chambers is unbalanced-player one'll always be a turn ahead and be able to get the villages that would be contestable otherwise.
I think you could make him player one's castle a litlle bit farther away ( about a turn's travel time) to compensate for it.
