I voted tghe Elvish Champion because he has one of the coolest unit images! :D

(other favorites are soulshooter and the drakes and orcish souvereign, but basically I like the most gfx)

I took avenger because I sometimes use them to assasinate leaders (if close to wood).
It is also a very good allround fighter.

Edit: Forest I meant.

You have to consider that they were less lvl3 units when this thread has been created...

Silver mage?

Huh? :o  Do you mean his strength wich is hardly not more than a red mage?
Then you would have to watch the resistance and movement and his cool ability. Or put into [joke] tags. :P :P

The resistance is not very useful though, the damage types he resists are quite rare. I was very disappointed in the silver mage - teleport is nifty, but hardly justifies your level 3 unit having level 2 stats.

Anyway, my favorite level 3 would have to be the Shyde. Flying, curing, slow - she's a very useful unit in practically any situation. (Even without the downsides of illuminate, MoL can't match her mobility or her slow.)

The marshall.

The Grand Knight is good because it is the ultimate in frontloaded damage, it has good resistances, huge HP, and a powerful standard melee attack, and is really fast to boot.

The Marshal is good because it makes your level 1 units do +50% damage and is really overpowered.
