Hoplites had NOTHING to do with the romans (and thus, the lavinians), and they really don't need what i seffectively a spearman clone- the allmost all blade meele units make for uniqueness.

Second, thye were inferior to the legion in every way. literally. Ive looked into it.
Flexibility of command was what gave the Legion their victory over the phalanx, since a phalanx takes time to organize and once organized it practically only goes one way: forward.

The Legion had their manipulas (aprox 80 men) with their signifier and centurion. Some centurions in the back called their friends, decided to evrride a clear flank, and in 2 hours a whole phallanx was splitting blood on the soil while those who could raise their sarisas ran in fear.

The list of units is already in a thread IIRC, it was the one where Temuchin went into a faction spree. I still want those Franks/Normands to step up.

Well, I've added the images, I haven't tested if they work or not.

I won't be using the computer for most of this week (*grumble*parents*grumble), so I'll release next week sometime.

I've got some balancing comments, specifically in regards to the Lavinians in the imperial+default era... would you like to hear them?
I suspect having one foot in the past is the best way to understand the present.

Yeah, that would be good. It would be preferrable if you would email them to me, though.

Out of curiosity, could you post them or pm them to me?

(I wont start a major argument over it unless its ridculous like: thay all need to have 5hp but 7341-974902 for an attack.)
Oh no look out its a ray gun.
You should move to avoid the rays
the rays are coming out of the gun
if you are hit by the rays
you will be shot by the rays
the rays are fast so you should be fast to
can you win against the fast rays from the gun?

I'd like to include the Kedari in the next edition of the era, so if someone could draw up all the .cfgs they need, that would be great. IIRC, we still don't have all the stats for that faction, but we could make some up.

If you've noticed a lag in my work on the Kedari, that's because there's been one. I'm still going at it, though - I just haven't had a whole lot of free time in the last two or three weeks.

Just a quick question:

I noticed that the some of the Aragwaith have race=human while others have race=aragwaith

This has some trivial outcomes such as generating names but also mean that some units get 2 traits (as do all humans) and some get none. Is this intentional?
A witty saying proves nothing.

Important announcement, kind of.

Since it would take a long time to reformat this for posting, I'm just going to attach this text document. The intended audience is people interested in helping make art for the Imperial Era, but it will also be interesting to faction creators, and it helps outline what I think the future of the Imperial Era is.

(I have this saved in my account, it will be distibuted with the next version of the Imperial Era, and I will add to it in the future as I get more data.)

I've found out that the triaaries o feach legion (elite group o flegionares) were armeed with their shields and spears rather than swords.

this could be used as a new unit, or not.

I have taken it and made certain revisions to the Kedari, Airiya, and Dardans. The purpose for including this was to give everyone an indication of what I think is the smallest size to which these factions could justifiably be reduced. I would still like to see the sheik and sultan as a branch of the Desert Raider, though, perhaps as specialists in swordsmanship without any ranged attack.

And now I think I'll sign off for the day.
