Re: New animations
These are nice, the the spearhead looks wobbly in the idle animation.

Re: New animations
Oh, yeah that version of the idle is the old one, is this better?
The timing in the gif has nothing to do with what it looks like in game though, so I just threw it together.Nothing is foolproof to a talented fool.

Re: New animations
The shield changes size in the attack animation (either smaller or larger, depending on what it is supposed to be in the original spearman).
Otherwise, it is especially nice that the specular stays in place (should be correct) rather than moves with the helmet (should be wrong) as I have seen sometimes.
In the new idle, the lower part of the spearhead still seems wobbly.
The shoulders and the elbows seem to move separately.

Re: New animations
Whoops, I hadn't noticed, must've stretched it during blocking. Shouldn't be to hard to fix if desired.
The lower part of the spearhead is actually a piece of cloth, so it should flutter a bit and it would be hard to get the shoulders to move with the elbow, as the shoulders move upwards due to the breathing while the elbows are just flexing outward.

Re: New animations
Would you mind if I committed them in the state they're in?

Re: New animations
Nope, the frames I posted are actually the latest ones, I'd touched them up before I did the attack anim, and unless you want me to adjust the shield I think the attack anim looks allright.
Should I get cracking on the NE attack?

Re: New animations
Ok great! If you want to make a NE animation as well, that'd be perfect.Major wrote:Nope, the frames I posted are actually the latest ones, I'd touched them up before I did the attack anim, and unless you want me to adjust the shield I think the attack anim looks allright.

EDIT:
Committed the Spearman anims.

Re: New animations
Looks good to me. I'm not an artist though, so maybe it's good to wait for Jetrel's approval.

no, i did mean the spearhead metal part, it seemed to be twisting.Major wrote:Whoops, I hadn't noticed, must've stretched it during blocking. Shouldn't be to hard to fix if desired.

doesn't matter now as it has been committed, so this little edit (including the elbow) turned out to be just for fun.

The fact it's committed doesn't mean improvements aren't welcome anymore.homunculus wrote: doesn't matter now as it has been committed, so this little edit (including the elbow) turned out to be just for fun.
I like where this is going.Major wrote:Got bored of waiting. If its wrong I can always re do it.

Re: New animations
Updated the bob a bit, thanks Homunculus, sorry I was a bit short with ya earlier. Tried to fix the bending in the spear head, but I fear it might not be within my skills at this scale.
