hi there! I'm new :P

I just made a goblin spearman (bloody) death ani, and I'd like to know what you think about it.

(edited, removed the bloddy ani)

I think it is a bit too bloody (has anyone ever died like that except in a Hollywood movie?), but other than that it is very good. Perhaps you could remove some of the blood splatter.

Look like something big stomped on him. Goblin goes through a forest, hears a screeching sound, and when he looks up, a Wose stomps on him.

I ahve to admit, seems as dinamic as a mounted unit death.

Should I keep working on the goblin spearman death ani? :? I think there's something wrong with his right arm, but I dunno if it's worth fixing it...

Meanwhile, I made this one... No shadows done yet, though.

Notice that the goblin impaler, unlike the puny spearman, holds on to his weapon even in his final moment :P

So smooth? This guy is falling! He needs to accelerate!

It's bad because it's so smooth? :o Should I delete some frames?

I mean, this is just a sample gif, the 'speed' at which he falls can be easily adjusted through the framerate settings, if and when applied in-game, I assume.

very true, keep it at the same speed unless whoever includes it says otherwise.

it's simpler to make animations were each frame takes up the same amount of time. Sure timing can be tweaked in the unit's CFG, but it makes more sense to test an animation with (more or less) the correct timing.

Redeth, there are some aspects than could be better with these (timing perhaps the main one) but you've basicly got the right idea, and are thinking of the unit as a 3D entity, and not as a 2D image to be selectively rotated. Good work.
Feel free to PM me if you start a new terrain oriented thread. It's easy for me to miss them among all the other art threads.
