something doesn't seem right at how the gray part goes up in the middle part..but maybe this will turn out nice in the ready state
that mark on the spearhead is a neat thing :)

Well, I have no idea what that means, but I reckon the breastplate on the bottom left (his left) seems to bulge out a little.

Looks like Imperio Romanum to me. Is that intended? That was negativly commented on a Garreth Charcter from a fly-by artist.

I am not sure if dwarves should be bold. I would go for hair or helmet.

Good work, like allways.

Baldness is perfectly fine, especially when it's there as a cue to suggest the character being old and grizzled.

Work in progress for Thursagan.
The cape is made of some kind of dried leaves and there will be some amount of anvil in his hammer. Note that parts of his gear such as his belt and pouch will be deliberately showy, yet in poor condition, if only to remind that he's a brilliant and very successful craftsman

I'd see some runic plates plotted into the cape, but even without that - I love it ^^, 'busy with more important work' look achieved

Looks awesome as always!

For the anvil-y hammer, I think it would look good if you just pop a triangular anvil on top of a large tree branch. You could have the branch all knobbly with other smaller branches poking out near the top.

The current hammer looks like it's in pristine condition and not much like the shaft has rotted from lack of care, the head has rusted all over, etc. - which would mean bits would have to be replaced with pretty much whatever he could find, which is why I'm saying this.

I've been busy with personal projects for a while, but SoF is all but forgotten ! Here's the finished lineart for Thursagan, complete with flats.
Eventhough I did incude an anvil-shaped head, I still envision the artifact as a full-fledged hammer. Hence an elaborate shaft, which Thursagan will have maintained in good condition : loony as he may be, he's still a runesmith and as such ought to know and respect the value of the hammer :)

The Thursagan art looks incredible! However, it's a bit hard to read the position of the arms (where the arms are and what he is doing with them)...

EDIT: Just got it... He's leaning on one arm with the other reclining on the hammer. Totally up to you whether you change anything, Bob.

That's subjective. I have no problem reading his pose. :)

Wow, this is my absolutely favorite portrait now. Can't wait 'til it's finished (well, I can, but, it'll be hard. :D ). I wouldn't worry about his arm pose too much, I can read it just fine. The fur is looking great as well.

I also had no problems reading the pose. Durstorn, Baglur and Thursagan all look good to me; I got no particular complaints or suggestions.

me neither, the lenghts of the arm parts could be hidden, but with that pose and clothing type it's something to expect, while changing it would delay the work back to lineart design - something I'd prefer avoided as I can't wait to see Khrakrahs :D

Glad to see people like them :)
It'll be a while before you see more of Thursagan, so as a placeholder here's the preliminary shading for Durnstorn. ^_^
