That are some very nice sprites.
Though I liked the style aof the first ones a bit more.

 Might it have something to do with epic billowing capes?

Ahh you really got me there. :augh:

This and perhaps the darker colors and the wonderful shield ornament.

thanks!, :P , but zerovirus let me little worried about the TC. since TSI alerted me that I had to use that color palette, I have not come out of this. But because of my method, I may have created intermediate colors. Do not know if that can create technical problems. If there is an easy system to verify if it would be very useful. I'll have to watch it ....

It WILL create problems. ONLY those very specific colours will function as Team Colour. You need to apply them with a 100% opacity hard-edged tool - nothing else will work.

It's a relatively simple thing to fix, but it would be really good if you could do that yourself - to test it, you can use the game yourself - as described in this post: http://www.wesnoth.org/forum/viewtopic. ... 93#p402693 - I suggest a final step, using the debug tool's 'switch sides' command to check colours which are easier to distinguish from the magenta than red. Blue or green are usually better test colours.

TSI, I need your help. I can't start the debug mode. I'm not sure if is for the mac system. What i do is, dowload the development version (1.7.12) and trying to start holding the option key.......But i can't get to set the debug options.......

Well, you could also just type:

Code: Select all

:debug
When already in a game to get into debug mode.

The ':' brings out the command line (looks like a 'normal' message box/line) and 'debug' gets you into debug mode. Type 'help' in the command line to get .... help.

you might want to have a look at

http://www.wesnoth.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=28529

it's a tool that was specifically made to test animations for BfW sprites, and it allows to test easily on differnt backgrounds and different team colors...

I'd probably bulkl up the body of the level 3 a little more, and make him just a tad taller, but otherwise, that looks fantastic. nice work =D

I would suggest removing one of the frames where he brings the spear around to make it more fluid - it seems like the action of moving the spear (before stabbing) is a tad slow.

It's a blade attack, so you could just as well save time and effort and make a single slashing animation which works both for south and southwest/southeast. Just like the Royal Guard, the Bowman line, etc.
