Committed the draug, along with the blue, hunched version from p19 as an alternate, because it's of good enough quality, but I can't think of anythign better to do with it.

I'm going to be looking at a few pages back with this post, but oh well ;)

Frankly I really like what you've done with the skeleton archers. As I understand they're not finished yet, but that doesn't keep me from loving the "lone wolf" feeling I get from the bone shooter, was that intended?

As skeletons don't get as much speaking parts as other portraits (a pity, but a realistic issue), it figures you can take a lot more liberty on the poses than with other portraits and I'm really glad to see that. I'm supposing the banebow is a dead ranger? (due to the hood). Would it be too much on my part to ask for the inclusion of another tiny detail which would refer to the ranger (eg kitty's ranger with his unique clothes?) I think it would add a lot more personality to the portrait but then again maybe that's not something you're going for (after all the undead represent a general concept rather than a distinctive race if I'm not mistaken, so anyone can be among their ranks).

As always this is just a suggestion, so only pay heed to it if you deem it worthy of your attention (i'm saying this seriously, no sarcastic feeling here just in case).

All in all you've done a great job so far with the undead and especially with the addition of the ghoul (you are going to finish it aren't you? ^^) which was commonly referred to as an artistic "can of worms" due to the obvious "it doesn't look good without some creepyness/goryness to it but how can I make it appropriate, etc...". I think you've hit the feeling dead on there!

Please continue the good work!

P.S. I have to admit, it's probably obvious but i'm an undead player and I'd just love to see this race get as much attention as say the loyalists or the elves :). So good luck with them!

As TSI said, the blue skeleton on page 19 is finalized and good for use if anyone wants to use it. Maybe it can be a special talking skeleton or something. I just don't want to see it go to waste.

Spi: The ghoul is nearly done actually. I need to fix up his one hand and tighten the rendering in a few spots but I think all in all he's at the point where I line him and move on to the necrophage. To my knowledge, this will complete the ML undead units for multiplayer since Kitty has done everything else. I use them a lot myself, so it's been a real thrill to be allowed (and encouraged) to create what I have for them. They helped me experiment and learn a lot more than I previously knew about digital painting, and I'm glad the fine admins here at Wesnoth gave me the opportunity to complete it. Especially since I made them wait close to a year to actually see the Draug become finished.

As for the archers, I am a bit torn on them. I like what I did for them (though there is some debate on whether the boneshooter's pose is appropriate) however the rendering isn't up to my standards yet. I tried to do a style closer to what Kitty does but I don't think I went far enough with it, so they just appear awkward to me. Since the Ghoul is closer to being completed however, I'll be finishing that before going back and tweaking them. With any luck, I'll complete the Necrophage before WSAS starts so I can go nuts and get what I have in mind for that completed.

I don't really understand what you're asking me to do with the Banebow. I followed the sprite as closely as possible, so currently it matches that fine. I do think I would like to add some leather armor or somesuch to him however, as right now he's just cloth and bones. If you meant something else then feel free to let me know. I seldom turn down ideas, especially if they present a challenge to me.

Eh, what ever happened to the draug on page 14 and 15?

Observation is key in all things. That's all I'll say.

Could do with a touch more line weight variation, I have to say. Thicker in the shadowed parts, and all that. Otherwise, committable.

EDIT: thanks. I'll commit this evening or tomorrow.

2 things:

1. Are these going to make it in the 1.8.3 release?

2. The Ghoul is pretty freakish, reminds me of Grendel from Beowulf. (One of the books had a cover with him on it and he looked like that)

3. I see he has a lot of patches. Is that to say that he has no organs? Kind of like a skeleton, but it's just skin and a spirit?

4. I need to learn how to count

No, I'm not adding any art to stable releases, only to trunk.

Okay. One last question: Since they're not going to be in Wesnoth for a while, am I allowed to use them? (I don't know if they're GPL'd until they make it into the game.)

Of course. They make it into the game when they're committed, anyway, just not necessarily into any releases qucikly.
