Re: WSAS: Second milestone begins
For a giant lizard that breathes fire and flies on wings the size of its body, it looks good to me.Jetrel wrote: I hope this is the best of both, because this is getting a little ridiculous.

Re: WSAS: Second milestone begins
The only slight issue I have is the lack of movement in the tail - it looks like it just wiggles around limp underneath him the whole time in that one - having it visibly curl up and then come out above the wings, as in my original anim, would be good.

It's behind the wings. This is actually related to that thing I was telling you about - unfortunately, the only place it would actually be visible, above the wings, is too high. It would -really- have to be whipping around to get as much as you showed in your animation.thespaceinvader wrote:The only slight issue I have is the lack of movement in the tail - it looks like it just wiggles around limp underneath him the whole time in that one - having it visibly curl up and then come out above the wings, as in my original anim, would be good.
I mean, potentially a small nub of it could come up there at the apex, but anything more is too much. The good news is that it's something very non-invasive to try, so I can do that tomorrow morning.

Burner flame animations cloned over. Just south to go, and some tweaks.

Re: WSAS: Second milestone begins
Initial lines for the Burner. Clearly a lot of revision is needed, but I think I have the basic layout for the armour down - most of it is leather, but the shoulder plates, breast plates and the two strips hanging in the middle are ceramic.
EDIT: Kitty, would you be willing to provide a Drake Logogram to go on his belt buckle, please? Something that means something relevant to the burners, naturally.

Re: WSAS: Second milestone begins
Hmm, I know you are trying different things with the wings per critique given, but you may want to look at making the top joint resemble glider's, where it meets in one spot in a sort of arch as opposed to having parts in the membrane bend and come in.
You could still flex the wings out a bit to add to his stance, but currently it does not look viably possible for him to open his wings.

Re: WSAS: Second milestone begins
Yeah - the wing tips need a rethink. I also suspect his head could do with being a bit bigger...
EDIT: and south. Just needs flying, once Jet's finalised that.

Re: WSAS: Second milestone begins
The burner looks like an interesting start!
Apart from the already mentioned wings, the legs/loincloth area needs the most work. The legs are generally too wide and also very differently thick. And, like last times, folds are very very complicated to get right - just get a photo of yourself with a loincloth in a similar stance...
And there are some asymmetries in the face, he is cross eyed and the hand is too big. I wouldn't resize the head, a small head makes his overall built more impressive.
And you can get a logogram for his belt, of course. Only one (aka one word) logogram or a couple of them forming a sentence?

Re: WSAS: Second milestone begins
One word, probably one of the pictographic type ones, would be good - i included a triangle where i intend to put it

Ok, one it is then, you'll get it tomorrow. Probably simply "fire" - if somebody has a better suggestion, I'm open for ideas!
Re: WSAS: Second milestone begins

- the wings go apart during the inhale, not together.
- don't use pure select-and-slide on the wings. Rotate. Stretch. I did only use SaS (on the highlit part) during the inhale, but during the exhale, I rotated and stretched.
- stretch his breastplate during the inhale. I know it breaks all sorts of laws of physics and material science. Do it, though - this is a cartoon, and it 'is' visually his chest. Because you're not doing it, I wasn't able to see the inhale at a glance. It took me quite a bit longer to register that his diaphragm was expanding, and visually, it just works better for the armor to go with it.

Re: WSAS: Second milestone begins
I'll stretch it a bit, but i don't want to take it too far. The rest, duly noted.

Re: WSAS: Second milestone begins
I am not familiar with the new multi-directional attacks, but wouldn't it make sense to have the burner inhale south and flame south - rather inhale, pivot, and flame south? Just asking.

Re: WSAS: Second milestone begins
Yes and no. Yes, it would from a realism point of view. No it wouldn't from a 'twice as many wind-up frames to do when one set suits just fine' point of view. The latter wins.
