What about using the current lv3 as the lv2, and the new one as the lv3? I think the current lv2 is a bit too lv1 bland looking.

Also, I will never be able to remember those middle eastern names :P

I agree, the level two compared to the level three(forgive me, I likewise cannot recall their names) is not even as dynamic the elvish captain compared to the elvish marshal, which is a basic transition.

Oh, my happimeter shows I have risen 4°H (Happiheit). Of course you, TSI, must divide by nine then multiply by five to get an increase of 2.24°C (Cheersius).

I disagree. I think there is more than enough differentiation between the ghazi and the khalid, though the new ghazi's shield doesn't look right. It's brighter in the background than in the foreground, though the edge in the foreground is extremely bright and the highlightd on the shield boss suggests a different light source than the shield itself, which seems lit from almost behind the unit. The shape is also a bit odd: Squished on one side of the boss, but... less squished(?) on the other (the back). Shading the back part darker and the front part lighter may sort it out. I'm painfully aware how difficult it is to get these looking right.

I agree with Thrawn, the v2 image has a better balance to it and looks excellent.

I think the changes to the angle of the shield on the v2 ghazi are needed to differentiate, but perhaps we could get away with replacing the pauldron, maybe shrunken down a bit, now that the posing is a little more distinct. And the shield could do with some re-shading, you're right. It was late last night when I did these and I didn't sleepw ell this weekend. Blarg.

EDIT: another alt for the l4, with a slightly different pose and swords moved around, generally a little more pop to it.

You'll see ;) I'll be releasing something (either a playable alpha or just sprites and background material) when I get back from Australia.

Nice. Something about the pointing finger just doesn't work for me though... but I can't exactly figure out what.

He seems a bit short small in general, but thats my judgement. I like the finger, it adds some nice expression.

What about when the enemy unit is behind him? :P

Very nice work space.

He does feel a little short - I wonder about adding another pixel to the height of his torso - he's taller than the l1, but the feel is equally important. I have to be careful not to make him too grand though, there's a level 3 to come.

Maybe if you also extend his arms the stubbiness will relieve.
