Don't Forget Walking Corpse Variations
undead bat and gryphon are still needed... both look like a dragon :/
I would do it myself, but honestly, that art would suck

Quite possibly the most terrifying thing ever to be seen by anyone, ever.

Re: Don´t forget alking corpse variations
thx for the links
i tried that once for a dwarven variation... it tok me hours of work and believe me, it did suck^^
look what megane did in just 2 days... ^^
I just thought I write it here as a reminder, since those units are not seen very often and could esily be forgotten^^
This thread is awesome. Thank you very much if you start working with these. I can focus on death-skellies and Fire dragon.
IMO the griffon rider should turn into a griffon zombie. That variation could be used for the griffon monster as well.
The same should be done in the case of wolf riders.
Why? Well, why would you want to use zombifying on the riders when the ridden creature is far more deadly in comparison.
And this looks good and doesn't need that much art to be done.
A goblin variation I'd like to see.

I wish I had more time in my hands.

Possibly evil to code and horribly unbalanced, but the Gryphon Rider and Wolf Rider seem to me like they should turn into a Creature Zombie AND a Rider Zombie - it wouldn't make much sense to the necromancer to keep the rider attached to its mount, but equally, what sensible necromancer would let a perfectly good rider's corpse go to waste?
However, the current Mounted Corpse sprite disagrees with both of us...

I don't know what is in the water today but when I started I couldn't produce results like megane.
On the other side that's why I created a topic like this.
To give everyone the chance to get better.

This girl, this boy, They were part of the land. What happens to the places we used to tend?
She's a hard one to trust, And he's a roving ghost. Will you come back, will you come back, Or leave me alone?

This turned out seriously creepy. Yeughh.
They're a lot less cuddly-looking dead.
Edit: fixed the rib jumping around.

Have you considered having bits of the bat flake off as it flies?
As a particularly crappy example:
