On a whim, I made a Desert Shaman.

Cool, but doesn't fit. The sprites need to be reverseengineered from pickslides art, not upgraded from existing ones. Compare it to the one Federalist marshal polishes ATM. Just to much heavy clothing.

It looks nice. Only problem I'm having at the moment is that the sword looks odd, like it connects with the edge of the hilt not the centre of it. This may be due to background, so if you're sure it doesn't need a look at then no worries.

PS. How about that tatoo ?

I should definitely give him a tattoo on his torso, but I can't find anything good for a reference. Any suggestions?

Yep. That's much better. Maybe experiment a bit with accesories (face mask looked good, headscarf? cloth bag at side?) but that's your call. It could stay as it is.

Megane, IMO the design of Shaman2 looks cool but the head is out of proportion with his body, even for Wesnoth.

In my opinion, the body is the problem - the body is too small, even for a petit little elf shaman. Biggerize it.

Is this better? her upper body is larger by a pixel in each direction (which, btw, brings her up to 40 px tall).

There's two versions, one with a SARS mask and one without; I prefer it without, but it's your call.

@megane: I like the shaman with and without the mask, but since Federalist Marshal's mask is TC'd, perhaps you could make yours TC'd too?

Shaman3 is excellent. The masks give the units a unifying theme aside from the drab colours; furthermore, they especially fit with the Arabian theme when you've got her dressed like a belly dancer.

EDIT: btw, Fed: your most recent fighter is a full 47 px tall; IIRC the standard for lv1 elves is 41, so he looks pretty darn tall. You might want to cut him down a little.

I made him a bit shorter and brought the blade forward a bit. The attempt at the tattoo wasn't really as detailed as I had wanted it to be; I had no way of making anything really complicated.
@Megane, Karo: Glad to see that some other people are working on this too; it would take me a really long time to get an over 200 images done alone. Only problem is the the style isn't exactly the same.

Is he supposed to not be wearing a shirt? It doesn't really like like it, honestly. His chest muscles probably need to be more defined... check out the Berserker/Ulfserker sprites, perhaps, or if their beards cover too much up, you can try looking for the Neoriceisgood spritesheet, which I know has several shirtless characters... unfortunately I can't find my copy currently...

Ironically enough, if it's the one I think you mean, it's available on turin's graphics library page. Someone should probably move it to Neo's page, I suppose.
