Because it has an influence on how much you need to redraw if units move. If you allow overlap of images, you've got to check the surrounding hexes for overlapping images to be redrawn.

It's not bad, but if you compare it to our other tents and structures, you'll notice that the perspective is extremely different.

Your right!
I draw this one from a photo i found on the internet, and forgot about the perspective.
It should be some kind of Top Down View. Right?
I'll trie to figure it out how this tent will look from this view.

I changed the perspective, but i'm not happy with the entrance.
Doesn't it look a bit to small?

I don't think it looks too small. I think it does look excellent though! I think we got all the props we need for the archery tournament in a robin hood campaign =)

For my opinion, the windmill from my last post is rather modern and the colors doesn't fit the other villages from wesnoth. So i decided to make a new one.
This time i took the colors from the villages.
Now the windmill is not animated and i think this is better then an animation.
I tried it with an 18 frames animation, but looking in game on an never ending turning windmill, would be bothersome. It would be not realistic, because the wind doesen't come always from the same direction and it get's more or less intense. This would be hard to realise.
What do you others think about it?

nice, but i suggest a complete redraw of those moving-around things(i dont know the right word ), they should be brighter(best would be if they were made of many colors, including black, but also something brighter).

remember, it doesnt have to fit into a frame, its not a unit.

btw, it doesnt have to be animated all the time, it can be so that just once in a while it turns around. imo that should solve the hypnotizing thing.

Are you talking about the last picture, whose name is specified in the download / visual box as Windmill? :P

Animating such a thing is a bit of work, so i want to go for sure if this is possible, what you say. I doubt, that it is. 'cause to animate the wind mill from time to time, you have to add code to the mainline. But the images shown in this thread seems to act only as an addition. And that makes it difficult to write extra code for.
