From all those old zombie battles. Chopping a zombie in half dosn't quite kill it does it?
What about all of then zombie halfs dragging themselves along mindlessly, or all of them other lopped off bits and bobs that wern't put in the army stew pot?
you mean deFEETed and unARMed zombies.

Actually that reminds me of a proposal way back when for a corpse pile unit...hmm, ah here it is... http://www.wesnoth.org/forum/viewtopic. ... 613#112613

Hey, this is a cool idea.

I'll gladly do the WML for this. :)

Here's the next 3 or so units I made:

Pack rats: same as rats, except level 1 (not 0)

Bat Swarm: a lot like undead bats except higher attack and the swarm "abillity"; possibly 60 base evasion instead of 50, as they're really tiny

carnivorous worms: not entirely sure about abillities etc yet;

I was thinking that a good thing for worm units and the likes would actually be a "submerge" that works on sand (and maybe cave tiles)
say "dig" or whatever; so that players could randomly be ambushed by large flocks of these ugly critters.

Them worms remind me of giant intestinal worms :?

I would hate to meet one in a dark ally or anywhere...

...and not because they arn't good conversationalists.

Awesome. If these get decent animations (e.g. a good attack frame, or a few attack frames for the big ones, and a defend frame or two), I'd be game for adding them to mainline, under the "monsters" listing.

Dying frames, for the larger ones, would also be sweet.

I'll strike a deal; if someone can get some proper and cool new abillities fit for monsters in, I'll animate them 8)

I could try it (I would probably have done it anyway for DT) if you were a bit more specific.

I think we can already do this one.

(Or if we don't have support, we can get it real fast.)

*Elvish Pillager whips up some stats*

Gazer:
level 1
neutral
34 HP
5 moves
flyer movetype (or more like Undeadfly, with good movement in caves too;)
5-3 tentacles
swarm
melee--impact
4-4 gaze
transfix (When used on attack, the turn after a unit is hit by this attack, it can't move, and it can only attack enemies that attacked it within the last turn (which will always include the transfixing unit.))
ranged--cold

Bat swarm:
level 1
chaotic
25 HP
8 moves
undeadfly movetype, plus 10% defense everywhere.
6-4 fangs
drain
swarm
melee--blade

Rats:
level 0
chaotic
22 HP
5 moves
special movetype, with 50% defense on grassland and 60% in most defensive terrains; moves easily through terrains, like a Dwarf
20 XP to level to Pack Rats
7-3 bite
swarm
melee--blade

Pack Rats:
level 1
chaotic
42 HP
6 moves
same movetype as the Rats
8-4 bite
swarm
melee--blade
It's all fun and games until someone loses a lawsuit. Oh, and by the way, sending me private messages won't work. :/ If you must contact me, there's an e-mail address listed on the website in my profile.

They won't last long, even with drain.

So they are either useless or ultimate? Ugh.
The only way to kill them would be with an extremely lucky low reps/high damage unit (troll, maulers, wose, etc).

EDIT: ...or a magical one.

;) I'm hoping it was a typo.

Anh, I made a slime. Makes me want to get out my Onion Sword and collect my ill-gotten 7 GP.

Oh yes, and the rats would make more sense doing 3-7; it would make the swarm ability come into play more.
