Lich and Wose are great animated. I like them.

Re: Standing and idle animations?
Regarding the Wose standing anim: The transitions are a little too big. Maybe if you added another frame or two it'd look a little better. That aside, they both look pretty good.
FYI, the lich has an idle anim.

Sorta on a break from the forums ATM, have been for a while. If I was doing something for/with you and I haven't recently, that's why, I will be back soon hopefully.

I'd be interested to see what the Art Contributor folks think of these animations. I think they look pretty good.Zoomo wrote:Heres an animated gif for the lich laughing

Re: Standing and idle animations?
The lich has a lightening bolt arch from his/her hand to the ground (or vice-visa) then course through his/her body or some such.
On the laughing lich; why do the robes get light cast on them? At least that's what the current shading looks like to me.

Re: Standing and idle animations?
Yeah, the newer Wose looks better.
And on a side note, the lich's idle anim is a halo, so it won't be in the folder with the other anims.

Re: Standing and idle animations?
The Wose’s top appears to be made of some kind of leafy-looking boiling jelly rather than actual leaves — that is, the individual leaves’ motion seems a little erratic and not very much like they are fixed in place by their stems. The Wose itself also looks far more lively than I would expect when standing, considering they otherwise seem ent-like in nature. I always pictured them completely static when standing, except for their tops.
I’m also a bit unsure with regards to the Lich’s animation. Why does he lean partially forward to laugh?
Just my two cents. I’m neither an artist nor in charge of this stuff.

Re: Standing and idle animations?
I'd prefer to see a standing anim for a wose blowing in the breeze or something like that. It just niggles at me badly to see things which, by flavour, are basically indistinguishable from oak trees, bobbing up and down and breathing.

oak trees ... ah so those magenta blobs on the sprite are acorns? i thought they were apples.
anyway it does seem like a bit too much motion of the wrong type for a creature which hides by being one with the trees
the cackling lich seems a keen idea though.

Re: Standing and idle animations?
Ok so maybe not the wose, but right now I'm working on a animation for the skeleton archer.

Re: Standing and idle animations?
The movements seem to be too significant to me, so some parts of the body seem to jump from one place into another. As somebody said, these animations seem too jerky. The skeleton should move less, in my unprofessional opinion. Or even not move at all, undead don't breathe as other units with standing animations of this kind.
As animation for ghoul, I would suggest making him drool, maybe from other parts of the body, not only mouth.
