Thanks for the feedback guys ! I will revise the bottom robes of the Jinn, you're right that it's a lot blockier than the rest.
doofus-01 wrote: May 10th, 2021, 1:17 am You don't necessarily need to get the nagas done, but we do need the Ophidian design finalized soon if we're going to stay on schedule. Dart could work, but this is fantasy, so maybe something slightly impractical-looking could work if it's interesting enough. There are a lot of thrown weapons with an interesting design ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mambele_(knives) ), one that is more like a pick than an axe could be pierce-type.
Awesome link ! These twisted blades have a serpentine feel to them, they will be a great fit for nagas. I'll see if I can design a pierce weapon based on them.

This may be a dumb question, but where are the finished images stored? For example, the firewraith.

EDIT: The naked fire guardian and mace nagas too.

The wose shaman is something I've been working on for a while. I'm not completely satisfied with it, though, the foliage is giving me a headache. However, fixing it would require that I take a step back, do lots of tree & style studies and possibly redraw all of the leafy parts, which I would say is not the most pressing matter right now. So I will gladly take any feedback, note it down for later and say we live with it as it is for the time being.

Next on my plate is finishing these other nagas Doofus is eagerly waiting for.

For the shaman, I wonder if some (glowing?) mushrooms around the base/roots would work? Also, the darker reddish lines are a vine, I assume?

Agreed, glowy things would add a much-needed magical vibe. The red lines are indeed a vine that I added as an afterthought when I noticed my shaman was so far very mundane, but they're clearly nowhere near magical and barely visible with the light scheme I picked. Maybe they're but a first step and the vines themselves could glow, or bear strange magical fruits. Either way it needs a revision, but I will first wrap up other more pressing portraits I want to cram in 1.16

Looking at the Jinni sprite, it looks like its hands are covered by (bluish) cloth gloves with three distinct fingers.
Applying this approach to the portrait might make it very clearly not undead (and with three fingers, not human) and fits the mysterious covered face.

Sorry I say this days away from the beta! This impression only just occurred to me. So perhaps a thing to consider for 1.17.

It sounds like you are looking at the old sprite, the new one should match the portrait better. If the claws should be more prominent or different somehow, there's time to change the sprites, but hardly any time to change the attacks and description.

I committed the mace Nagas, and will soon commit the Jinn, and the Fire Guardian & Wraith_A. I scaled the Fire Guardian down a bit, just so the user browsing the help menus doesn't see the same little fire dude with armor popping on/off.

It has been a loooong time. I know this is extremely late, but if possible I will try and squeeze in the last nagas for 1.16.

Starting with the Ringcaster ; colors are different from previous naga unit lines in order to match the Dirkfang.
I'll have the final cropped portrait tomorrow. I would suggest to assign it as both lvl 2 and placeholder lvl 3 temporarily, until I can complete the lvl 3 variant. In the meantime I will do the same for the ophidian.

Last one, hopefully still in time for 1.16 - the ophidian.

Also, both portraits cropped and ready for use

For anyone browsing, these were committed in time. They look great, I'm glad they'll be in the initial 1.16 release.

LordBob,
If you're going to be revising these, there is something about the ophidian's tail region under the mouth that seems off, maybe it was just because of the time-crunch. At least to my eyes, the difference in depth between the tail and the mouth & chest isn't really there. I think it's because of the tangent (? - might not be the right term) and possibly saturation. The spear thing (which has a real nice design) is also hard to read where it overlaps the tail. Hopefully the attached image shows what I'm getting at.
