For TSG, well... maybe I'm being a bit pessimistic. I had a look through the 1.9 maps and that's the only one I felt I'd be uncomfortable playing. I haven't had time to get any replays but I strongly suspect that lawful factions have the advantage there. All the other maps that were added in 1.9 (with the possible exception of hornshark) I think are great but I feel this isn't to the same standard.

And thanks for the skicky  .
You're welcome for the skicky. :)

I know this isn't really the place to delve into map structure and balance, so, just one more word here and I'll call it quits (or perhaps we could talk about it in the Stings thread). Anyways! I love TSG, as you know. Those replays from KOTF were some of the best of the whole tournament, in my opinion. This is how I see it right now: Chaotic rushes being overpowered seemed to be a sure thing; mainly for Undead/Drake and Northerner/Drake (hmmmmm  ). Chaotics being weak now seems a bit theoretical, which isn't to say that it's not the case, even though we don't have many (any?) replays demonstrating it. A lack of replays for this newest version is totally understandable, seeing as the changes in question occurred after KOTF.

What ended up happening, as you know, was 1.) the TOD bump 2.) certain structural changes, which made it take a little bit longer for the chaotic rush to hit with full force. Either one may have been alright, and it's quite possible that doing *both* was too much of a nerf.

If you really don't want it in, that's fine, *but,* I would make a deal with you, if you were so inclined ;), to revert the TOD bump, and see how things go. If that makes it too much of a wild card for your tastes, I understand.

About Hornshark, I agree that it's seemed quite balanced so far, in spite of the billions of variables at play, :P what with every faction having a different set of supplementary starting units, and different starting locations for those units, depending on the playerside. Perhaps it's just that very fact, that it seems to have billions of variables, that makes me wonder if there's anything glaring that I missed. Anyways, including it is awesome. People who've never even played 1.9x are going to be shocked out of their socks though at what Hornshark has become. :lol2:

:eng: Best start your training now, you kids who have never tried it!

Wow, I think this is a personal record for emoticon usage. 8)

I can't wait to see someone play Hodor against Khalifate. Would be epic. :lol2:
+1 :lol2: let's hope for HODOR participiation, he'll give a lesson if so :eng:
I think that this:

will keep Hodor away. ;)

It makes sense though, seeing as the testing of the Khalifate is one of the main goals.

For Doc and anyone else interested in TSG, I've posted on the ladder map council forums asking for opinions. I think we should move the discussion over there.

neki, you have a pm.

So when do we know when this starts? Or who we fight? Or the basic roster?

after Registration Phase ends (that is after filling all 32 team spots), I will randomly assign players to their groups and the Group stage will begin.
Section 6 of the rules  .

That clarifies things. Can we get a roster of all the players thus far?

I'm keeping the updated player list in the second post. That's the "news" section, I'll put the latest tournament news/status in that post.

I think that we should make an exception for HODOR.
