Wesnoth merchandise
I wanted to ask something about the Wesnoth merchandise (http://www.cafepress.com/wesnoth). Why are the old graphics still used on them? They should have been changed since Lis'ar's and Konrad's portraits have changed a lot. The game graphics have changed a lot since version 0.8.
Why aren't they updated?

I think you should make a shirt with the logo, or with some of the L3 units on it, because I hate elves, and delfador, and konrad mayas well be an elf since he was raised with them.
Oh no look out its a ray gun.
You should move to avoid the rays
the rays are coming out of the gun
if you are hit by the rays
you will be shot by the rays
the rays are fast so you should be fast to
can you win against the fast rays from the gun?

How about an orcs rule T? Use the portrait and give the website.

Well, at least you should update some graphics. And you should also use at least one image for each portrait or faction.
A T-shirt with Kalenz's new portrait would be great. (Jetryl's portrait)

I heartily endorse plushies of the species of Wesnoth. It would be cute, fun and good marketing.Arcamis wrote:I'm still waiting for the Saurian plush doll.
Then miniature Wesnoth battles could be assembled on your floor. Their tags should have the website, obviously, since people would wander "what is that?" and go to the website.

All suggestions are good. However, waiting for them to be implemented... BAD. I have already bought a t-shirt as a small show of support. Everyone who isn't developing campaigns should donate or purchase something right now.
Please! It's only fair.

Well, its not like all that much money is made from the T-shirts... maybe $1-2 per shirt at most...Dennis wrote:All suggestions are good. However, waiting for them to be implemented... BAD. I think the most effective way to donate is, well, donate.
Of course, I bought 4 wesnoth T-shirts last year just because they're awesome...

Re: Join the ranks of support
While we appreciate the support and enthusiasm, I'm afraid I don't share this viewpoint.Dennis wrote:Everyone who isn't developing campaigns should donate or purchase something right now.
People can support Wesnoth financially if they want to. However, there should be no feeling of obligation or guilt for not doing so. If we expected people to pay money to play Wesnoth, we would charge them money to obtain it.
If you want to send money or buy merchandise, then good for you, we appreciate it. If you just want to play the game and have fun without doing anything, then that's fine too. Just enjoy yourself without feeling you have to do anything at all.

There are lots of ways to help out the Wesnoth project.
Filling out bug reports for valid bugs.
Providing feedback to the developers to improve the game.
Helping answer tech support questions.
Helping on other open source projects which are used by
Wesnoth.
Contributing to groups that are trying to prevent legal
attacks on free software (in particular software patents).
