What was your recall list after beating Heir To The Throne!!

Post by darksteel »

This thread I think should have gone under off topic but I am not sure.

Anyway what was your recall list after you beat the Heir To The Throne. (Easy,Medium, or Hard)

Mine had:

1 Elvish sharpshooter
2 Elvish avengers
2 Elvish shydes
1 Elvish Marshal
4 Dwarvish lords
1 Elvish champion
2 Silver mages
2 Gryphon masters
1 Grand knight

Thats what I had...... now what about you.

(EP and (s)elfish weirdo I know you both have a impressive recall list but lets hear it anyway.) :D

I don't recall (pardon the pun) what I lost in The Battle for Wesnoth, and the replay is corrupt, so you'll have to make do with my start-of-scenario list:
  • 5 Dwarvish Lords
  • 5 Elvish Avengers
  • 3 Elvish Champions
  • 2 Elvish Marshals
  • 4 Elvish Sharpshooters
  • 2 Elvish Shydes
  • 2 Silver Magi
  • 1 Dwarvish Thunderguard
  • 1 Elvish Rider (Eonihar)
  • 2 Tritons (NOT Merman Tritons)
  • 25 Dwarvish Fighters
  • 7 Dwarvish Thunderers
  • 1 Elvish Archer
  • 4 Elvish Fighters
  • 1 Elvish Scout
  • 7 Elvish Shamans
  • 1 Gryphon Rider
  • 1 Horseman
  • 16 Mermen
  • 3 Thieves
  • and a paaar-tridge in a pear tree.
Aside from that, Konrad and Kalenz had 400+ experience, Delfador 300+, and Li'sar 100+. Li'sar had the Scepter and Konrad the Flaming Sword, but no one had any Storm Tridents.

Well, I play on medium, but I haven't beaten test of the clans without losses yet, so expect my army to grow.
1 (S)Elfish sylph
1 Great mage
2 Arch mages
1 Assasin
2 Dwarvish dragonguards
11 Dwarvish lords
3 (S)elfish avengers
3 (S)elfish champions
1 (S)elfish outrider
1 (S)elfish sharpshooter
2 (S)elfish shydes
3 Grand knights
3 Mages of light (one with a holy sword)
1 Merman hoplite (with trident)
1 Paladin
1 Bandit
1 Dwarvish steelclad
2 Dwarvish thunderguards
1 (S)elfish druid
6 Merman warriors (one with a trident)
2 Outlaws
8 Dwarvish fighters
1 (S)elfish archer
4 (S)elfish fighters
2 (S)elfish shamans
2 Horsemen
2 Mages
11 Mermen Fighters
4 Poachers
and last, as well as probably least: 2 Thiefs
I've also amlad 2 of my dwarven lords once, as well as the sylph. Konrad to 80 hp, Kalenz to 69 hp, Defaldor to 67 hp, despite losing several hundered xp due to completing most of the campaign before amla was implented.

I don't suggest you try. If you do, I suggest you saveload, because it is much more convenient and no less reasonable than playing from the scenario start over and over again. Skill cannot win you this scenario on its own; you have no choice but to get lucky.

Indeed? I once slaughtered 21 (or was it just 20? can't recall, it was 20 or 21 anyway) horsies and bowmen or before I lost a unit...

That's because you got lucky. They have Lancers, for instance. As soon as a Lancer attacks, anything with 75 HP or less has chance to be killed. Anything with greater HP is likely to be hurt enough that another one can come in and finish it off. If you failed to be killed by them, it's because they got unlucky and didn't hit you enough. Either that or you tricked them into getting no Lancers, but I don't know how to do that...

Just think of my dwarvish lords, several of which have the strong and resilient traits and great pierce resistances as well as 60% defense on hills

I know. If you put your Dwarvish Lords on hills, in the front ranks, without allowing a single one of your other units to be attacked, then it means that the Dwarvish Lords are the ones who are likely to be killed.

How many times have you attempted this scenario?

(S)elfish! My dream of the Blitz ring has become a reality!

Next, you must endure the Blitz back-tatoo. Yakuza-style.

How can one know if you really got that many advanced units when you can just edit the text file with the save?

And what stops me from just making 10 White Mages up? Or 25 Elvish Champions?

You'll have to take everyones word for it.
This is no competition, so what should one win by making up the numbers, or posting his post-cheat unit list?

Btw, the other players list's are obviously far more impressive than mine, cause I played on Easy.

I havent finishe dit yet, and my recall list sucks because its from when I first started wesnoth (months ago. boy did I suck) im in the snoy place with the fire sword. I think I have:
2 paladins
1 grandknight
2knights
1 grand marshal
3 dwarf lords
1 thunderguard
2 tritons
2 or 3 elvish heroes

2 or 3 elvish champions. ( Ive restated the campaign and have a dedent list going.
I also killed all but three of th eorcs in elves besiged I.E. THE ELVES ACTUALLY WON BECAUSE ABOUT 12 OF THEM ARE LEFT AND THEY HAVE LEVEL TWO UNITS) AHHHHH CAPS!!!!
Oh no look out its a ray gun.
You should move to avoid the rays
the rays are coming out of the gun
if you are hit by the rays
you will be shot by the rays
the rays are fast so you should be fast to
can you win against the fast rays from the gun?
