Is there a way to know the number of players?

Post by penguinsarecool1110 »

Hi!
I was wondering if there is a way to know how many people have downloaded the game from this website and from Steam. I suppose it is not possible to know how many, for example, monthly players Wesnoth has? If there is way to know how many peope have downloaded, is it possible to see the ratio of downloads between countries? For example I would like to know how many people from Finland have downloaded the game? :)

For the number of people playing online multiplayer, you can check here (username=guest, leave the password blank). On SourgeForge there's also downloads per week easily available. Getting more comprehensive information is possible, but would require some digging.

Wow, those were actually pretty great numbers. Over 100 000 downloads in a year. I was pleasantly surprised. Over a thousand in Finland. Seems like there would definitely be an audience if I start translating.
