Official Wesnoth Discord server

We've promoted this on social media and IRC, but somehow I forgot to mention it here on the forums:

Our Discord server is here if anyone would prefer to hang out there. We don't currently have any plans to abandon IRC in favor of Discord, though.

(Edit, 2/13/19: updated invite link to use our vanity URL).
Creator of Shadows of Deception (for 1.12) and co-creator of the Era of Chaos (for 1.12/1.13).

Is there some lightweight discord client avaiable? I tested the offical discord client, but it takes like 150mb ram (split over 3 processes) which is 150 times more than my irc client.
Scenario with Robots SP scenario (1.11/1.12), allows you to build your units with components, PYR No preperation turn 1.12 mp-mod that allows you to select your units immideately after the game begins.

I believe you can access Discord in your browser, but I don't know about third party apps. Discord is a specific app like Skype, not a standard like IRC.

There are some third party apps for various platform that are a little less resource heavy, but all the ones I've used also have dramatically fewer features.
Maintainer of the Imperial Era and the campaigns Dreams of Urduk, Epic of Vaniyera, Up from Slavery, Fall of Silvium, Alfhelm the Wise and Gali's Contract.
But perhaps 'maintainer' is too strong a word.

I'd suggest heading over to their feature request page and voting up the request for an IRC gateway.

I like the Discord. How many Wesnoth people on IRC compared to Discord?

I'm not really sure what the difference in users is at the moment, but I believe the intention is to focus on Discord going forward. IRC isn't going anywhere any time soon though either.

@Glasser: Of course.

There are two channels. (Possibly more, but I only look at the English-language stuff.)

I would suggest, if you get on the development channel, that it be used for development-y things like talking about a bug; and not use it as a general chat channel. You will find that many of the developers are on both.
I forked real life and now I'm getting merge conflicts.
