sceptre of fire in windows xp
i am a dumb german windowsxp user but i don not wanna miss the end of the campaign. so how the f*** can i fix the sceptre of fire bug in 0.8.9???
Well, you can edit the save game file and change the cave wall character to cave character, in effect creating a tunnel to the sceptre the next time you open it up.
There are some other posts floating around here about exactly how to do that. I don't remember the characters to switch off the top of my head.

see the solution in this thread:

(just open the savefile and edit the map to replace 'W' with 'u')
This bug should be fixed soon. And I know you're frusterated, but please don't swear on the forums.

Actually the next minor version from 0.8.9 is 0.8.10.Monkey wrote: and the next step from 8.9 is not 8.10... is either 9.0 or 8.91
8.10 is smaller than 8.9
Our versioning scheme uses three integral numbers seperated by periods. It does not use decimal numbers, and the periods seperating the numbers are not decimal points in this context, so rules of decimal numbers do not apply.
In the same way, the day after 2005.1.9 (a possible way to write the ninth of January, 2005), is 2005.1.10. Likewise, the next IP address in the same class C network from 192.168.0.9 is 192.168.0.10.
