Official Battle for Wesnoth Facebook page

With the success of multiple fan-made Facebook pages for Wesnoth, we are happy to announce that The Battle for Wesnoth finally has an official Facebook page! We, the developers, intend to use this to communicate with the community at large in a setting that is both less restrictive than Twitter and more open than the official forums. We will not only post general announcements to this page, but also provide content there that will shed light on and give insight into current developments and the things that make the Wesnoth community great. For an example of content to be expected, see the “Exciting changes coming in 1.13.6” thread.

The page is initially going to be run by bumbadadabum and me (vultraz), but there will always room for suggestions and ideas. Community members are still free to make or run their own Wesnoth-related Facebook pages, but we would appreciate it if they would link to the official page and mark their pages as fan-made using Facebook’s features.

The intent of this is not to leech off the success of any of the community pages, but rather to make sure that we have a clearly defined place where the project staff can communicate with the community on Facebook. We highly appreciate all the community efforts and hope that an official Facebook page will make interacting with the community easier.
