Editing save files on windows
The efect of potions disapear when the unit advances on next lvl (gets new amla)
Thanks for response:
I went to Userdata file, then to Save files, looked at the save file and opened it in notepad. But now, I cannot delete any letter, nor writte anything in to it.
Please, what did I do wrong/What I have to do another way?

Re: Legend of the Invincibles
@Delicius169: Did you decompress the file before opening it? If not, maybe that's why you're in read-only.
I'm no expert on this, but IIRC you don't have to compress it after editing (as that also may lead to problems).

I have a cunning plan.
Re: Legend of the Invincibles
I assume you don't have the rights to do it. I'd try something of these:Delicius169 wrote: went to Userdata file, then to Save files, looked at the save file and opened it in notepad. But now, I cannot delete any letter, nor writte anything in to it.

1. Open notepad in administrator mode (should be an option in the right click menu)
2. Copy the save file elsewhere (for example on the desktop, make sure you don't make a link), edit it and copy it back.
3. As nuorc said, copy make sure you've permanently decompressed it. You don't have to compress it back, wesnoth can open uncompressed save files. It also has a setting to prevent compression of files (that should fix all your issues).

Re: Editing save files on windows
Thanks a lot, I managed it.
I decompresed the file and opened it in notepad. Changed the line I needed, and put file again between saves.

Yea, I used editing save files too.
Great instrument when you testing a campaign you create.
For example, if you cannot afford finishing a scenario in a certain time limit you can always rise it manually in the save file

That can be done simply via the debug mode. It has a command for it.For example, if you cannot afford finishing a scenario in a certain time limit you can always rise it manually in the save file
Via its
lua
command, you can do pretty much anything, but it's not very comfortable so sometimes editing the save file is easier.
