I wonder why do some user has bold-texted ID.
For instance, Elvish_Hunter, Crendgrim, Lordbob or so on. Why do these users have green or red or blue colored IDs? Why cannot I change mine?? Does that color mean anything?
Re: I wonder why do some user has bold-texted ID.
Color is an indication of what usergroup you are part of.
Elvish_Hunter is red because he is part of the Developer usergroup.
Crendgrim is green because he is a forum moderator.
LordBob is brown because he is the portrait director.
You can look up a Member in the top right to find out what usergroup they are in.

Re: I wonder why do some user has bold-texted ID.
Oh...I see. So how can I get a color on my ID?
Re: I wonder why do some user has bold-texted ID.
Forum or server lobby?
For lobby:
Bold - registered account
Blue - player or observer in selected game
Red - player or observer in other game
white - just sitting in lobby

Depends on what color would you like.Oh...I see. So how can I get a color on my ID?
Green: post a lot of clever comments for several years, then you can become a moderator.
Blue: do some awesome music & art for the game
Brown: do lots of awesome art for the game
Red: start hacking the game, implement a cool feature or kill a bunch of bugs
Orange: kill shadowmaster

SoC Applicant may be the easiest one to get, and it's a very nice vibrant purple.
I never thought name color could be such a big motivator, though.

See the "Legend:" line way at the bottom of http://forums.wesnoth.org/ (just under "Registered users" in the "Who is online" section, which precedes the "Statistics" section -- at least in the default board style and in the one I use, probably in the others as well).AxalaraFlame wrote:Does that color mean anything?
The same colors are used by those people when they are writing "from their position". For example, if Crendgrim moves a topic (a moderator action) and reports doing so in a post, the word "moved" will be in green. Similarly, shadowmaster acted as an administrator when updating the posting guidelines, so the relevant text was in orange.

You could just assign a user-defined stylesheet that would make your own name show up in whatever color and font weight you’d like.

Is that very hard or impossible? Though he must be a very seasoned player, but I bet there should be someone have the ability to beat him on ladder.Orange: kill shadowmaster

Guys....I Really Really want my ID with some color! This light blue sucks! Does anybody know how to change it?
Re: I wonder why do some user has bold-texted ID.
Not easily. Not even with CSS, as the HTML code doesn't allow a determination of the poster. You'd basically have to modify a browser and filter for your name and color it. Not that I'd think it would make any sense regarding the goal, but it's the only way I see.
