What do you mean I didn't come close? I won. Didn't the replay go to that point? The AI didn't recruit grunts because it strongly prefers level-2 units, and was waiting to have enough gold. It should come as no surprise that the AI isn't as good as a human player.

What I see in debian shipped 1.9.5 (there is a oos message though) is that you killed the orcs in 29 moves.

I did finish on turn 29, but the last orc disappeared on turn 18! At that point, the undead were nearly gone as well--I just had a couple lone skeletons and the cave to deal with. I am using 1.9.5+svn including the very latest changes, but I can't imagine that it changes the replays significantly.
