Hello,
From what I can tell difficulty changes gold amounts for player/AI and at least for some maps lowers turn number. What else does it change? Wreath color at end of a campaign?

Yup, you get a different wreath color at the end of the campaign, and campaign authors can also have arbitrary other things vary by difficulty, too; for example, recruit lists, what dialogue gets displayed, what types of units get put on the map in scripted events, what notes get displayed with your objectives, what terrain certain tiles on the map are, whether certain sides are allied with you or enemies of you, what traits certain units are given, who gets recalled at the start of scenarios, how aggressive/cautious the AI is, and much more. Of course, this all depends on how the scenario in question is written, so you can always look at a specific scenario's source if you're wondering which quantities are varied in it. (Personally, I advocate for campaign authors to vary as many things by difficulty as they can, but unfortunately they often fail to do so)

Additional or better loyal units on lower difficulties are also quite common.
