"they shouldnt be running away from my elves"
Actually this looks like how AI best thinks it can utilize the saurians. It is also how I would use them: get out of reach, but in range, so they can pounce on the wounded units. In my opinion this tactic makes saurians extremely dangerous.

Perhaps mixing a few notherners into the saurian army (non-recruitable, positioned units) will help force an incursion where the ai can use his skirmishers to force more kills, effectively increasing the human-players challenge.

(1) What difficulty levels and what version of Wesnoth have you played the scenario on?
hard; 1.8.2

(2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10)
9

(3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives?
99% clear. With river-crossing objectives, I'm always a little nervous about how far over the river I need to go (and therefore whether I can go crazy with my troops on the last turn with no fear of retaliation.)

(4) How clear and interesting did you find the dialog and storyline of the scenario?
Okay. The last two screens of text in the introduction are unclear. What are "fell legends?" And "May be" should be "Maybe". The last screen of text is, "Before Kalenz left the Ka'lian, he had ordered to stay and guard it. Kalenz is from now on able to recruit Dwarves." Kalenz ordered whom? And the last sentence is a nonsequitor, in that Kalenz' new ability to recruit Dwarves has nothing to do with the previous sentence. Break it into another screen.

(5) What were your major challenges in meeting the objectives of the scenario?
I followed the advice in the Wiki, split my forces, and got slaughtered repeatedly. I then decided for a more traditional approach, hitting the closest leader (west) with all my forces, then turning to face the onslaught from the other. I also emphasized recalls rather than recruits, and recalled a lot of (quick) rangers, who are semi-competent at everything needed here: blade weapons, ranged weapons, and mountain movement, plus the option of hiding in the forest, either to set traps or to heal without getting skirmished. The rest of my army was heavy on healers and dwarf fighters/steelclads. I also had the help of loyal "Field" Marshall Anduilas, Avenger Landar, etc. It all worked like a charm, with the western leader and all his forces being destroyed by turn 6. I lost only a ranger. A turn or two later, the vanguard of the eastern assault wave arrived, consisting of 8 augars/oracles/soothsayers, which was fairly terrifying but which broke on my line without causing any deaths. The next turn's more mixed wave was also of concern, since part of my line had retreated to heal, but shydes were able to help protect the forest flank.

Meanwhile, I had sent a scout and Kalenz north. In the river, the scout died instantly in the jaws of a sea serpent in the West. Meanwhile, Kalenz started to cross in the middle, and a couple of pursuing saurians got tied up in battles with the aquatic monsters. When a saurian jumped into the water to attack a cuttlefish, that was pretty funny and may have saved Kalenz' life. Kalenz had a tense moment, wounded, poisoned, and trapped on an island by a sea serpent. I had to decide whether to have Kalenz jump back into the water and get one turn of mauling by the sea serpent or to try to kill the sea serpent, who was itself also fairly wounded. I decided to have Kalenz swim for it. He survived the attack in the water and then could exit to the shore.

(6) How fun do you think the scenario is? (1-10)
9. In contrast to others here, I loved it. It avoids the usual anti-climatic finish of having to hunt down the last leader with your now overwhelming forces. Excellent. Turn 10 was a victory lap turn, but turns 8 and 9 were tense for both my main force and Kalenz.

(7) What, if any, are changes you would have made to the scenario to make it more fun?
Change the Wiki to give better advice. Splitting your forces against saurians is suicidal!

(8) Was there any event that caused you to lose the game and forced you to reload or restart the scenario?
I had only normal fails, usually with Cleodil kicking the bucket before I stopped splitting my forces.

(9) If you know a bit of the Wesnoth Markup Language - do you think that the WML of this scenario is clear and well commented? If not which part would you like to be documented better?
N/A

I always split my forces. I may have a couple of losses, but nothing serious. If the scout crosses from the island on the right, he is fine. And, once spotted, I usually give the monsters targets to attack(and hence die) on the beach and then I cross when the river is clean

(1) What difficulty levels and what version of Wesnoth have you played the scenario on?

1.8.2 Medium

(2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10)

8, which includes defeating both enemy leaders. It did take me three tries though, more about that later.

I gave Kalenz an elvish rider for escort and I didn't see anything hard about racing Kalenz across the river (even stopping to kill a cuttle fish to give my troops one more round to finish off the western leader). Perhaps if you don't attack the Saurians, they cause him problems.

(3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives?

Clear.

(4) How clear and interesting did you find the dialog and storyline of the scenario?

Clear, interesting.

(5) What were your major challenges in meeting the objectives of the scenario?

I split my forces as per the wiki suggestion (dwarves with a couple druids west, my loyal elves backed with a sorceress, a druid, a ranger and some hereos east; I have tougher units, but was looking to level some). I would say success was 70% getting a good formation against the saurians and 30% just plain luck - if flankers or oracles get lucky, all the strategy in the world won't save your butt.

(6) How fun do you think the scenario is? (1-10)

7, enjoyed tuning my formations and unit recalling (too many marksman first time).

(7) What, if any, are changes you would have made to the scenario to make it more fun?

It was amusing to watch saurians battle water serpents :-)

(8) Was there any event that caused you to lose the game and forced you to reload or restart the scenario?

First time Orurf got creamed by oracles. In retrospect it was a combination of bad formation exposing him too much and and then bad luck recovering (amazing how dwarves can flail at air for turns on end at 40%).

Second time, my east elvish force literally got wiped off the map in 2 turns by a half dozen oracles that just couldn't miss and couldn't be hit. The term "buzz saw" comes to mind. I rebalanced with more heroes and less marksman after that, but honestly I don't think anything would have saved me from that.

Final attempt, I had formations down pretty well to minimize luck as much as possible, but honestly got lucky too. The dwarves actually hit oracles in first couple of turns which made a big difference and no terrible luck befell the elves to the east and I was able to keep a tight formation. Ended up losing one druid in the west, no units to the east, and leveled/nearly leveled a number of units. Well worth it.

OK, so you kept asking so finally I went and found the .cfg file (that's the WML right?) and yeah, I've never looked at WML before, but I was able to understand the gist.

Actually, I meant to second Maiklas here:

(1) What difficulty levels and what version of Wesnoth have you played the scenario on?
Hard, 1.8.5

(2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10)
3, fairly easy

(3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives?
Clear

(4) How clear and interesting did you find the dialog and storyline of the scenario?
Moderate

(5) What were your major challenges in meeting the objectives of the scenario?
None, send Kalenz and a scout ahead, recalled a couple of l3 units and a few ones to level up and attacked the western saurians first, when these were finished a wave from the east arrived, they killed 1 unit, but caused no real problem, meanwhile Kalenz crossed without being attacked, just needed the scout once to distract a sea monster

(6) How fun do you think the scenario is? (1-10)
4, it´s too easy

(7) What, if any, are changes you would have made to the scenario to make it more fun?
Give the saurians more gold and make crossings without a fight impossible

(8) Was there any event that caused you to lose the game and forced you to reload or restart the scenario?
First I send Kalenz ahead on its own, but he couldn´t cross without some help

(9) If you know a bit of the Wesnoth Markup Language - do you think that the WML of this scenario is clear and well commented? If not which part would you like to be documented better?
