Post by miyo »

Elen síla lúmenn' omentielvo.

Many bugs fixed. Many map editor improvements. Multiplayer improvements: observers see perspective of active player, observers can talk, game creator can chat while setting up game, players can chat with other game members while waiting for game to start, random faction. Graphics and user interface improvements, scenario and unit balancing - see all details at http://changelog.wesnoth.org

EDIT: The initial Windows binary had problems. A corrected version can be found here:

wesnoth-lite should be fully working Wesnoth, it just lacks music and story images (making it smaller and therefore faster to download):

devsrv.wesnoth.org is running 0.7.6 and can be used for multiplayer games.

Instructions for bug reporting can be found - http://wesnoth.slack.it/?ReportingBugs

Debian GNU/Linux, Mac OS X and BeOS packagers have been informed.

Bug in version 0.7.6

Post by Guillaume »

Hi,

I've just downloaded the version 0.7.6 for Windows, and I've noticed (at least) 2 bugs:

first one I was playing in the "siege of Elensefar" scenerio with version 0.7.5, and everything runs find with the save procedure (I use the French translation file). But since version 0.7.6, I have a problem with accentueted character like you can see in the screenshot

Was the font file changed? It seems that the accentueted character are missing in the font file.
But of course when I replace the "?" character by a non accentueted character, I can then save the game

Second problem is that after this scenario, the game told me that it can't find the scenario called "Crossroad" and then the game ended.

the ID of the scenario after Siege of Elensfar in 0.7.5 is "Crossroads" (plural). Was this a typo, or did it try to load a scenario called "Crossroad"?
If this is the problem then you need to replace all instances of next_scenario="Crossroad" in your savefile with next_scenario="Crossroads".

Yes, sorry it was a typo as you can see on this other screenshot:

The original Windows binary had problems, such as those described by Guillaume. It has been removed, and a corrected version is available at http://www.wesnoth.org/files/win-0.7.6fixed.exe

I apologize for the inconvenience.

Yay, thanks! Perhaps, you should turn the '--enable-lite' on by default for this package? Or maybe, some check if it doesn't exist then enable lite. I noticed this when it compiles:

find: music: No such file or directory

But, it's not that big deal since it compiles and install fine.

I've almost finished the software updates necessary to compile the latest version on Wesnoth on the Mac. So hopefully I should have the binary up tomorrow.
