Add-on's size

Post by Rovik »

Hi, sorry, never tried developing add-ons, but was connected to this theme because I'm in touch with some add-on developers. So, after last add-on update, developer found out, that size of add-on is too high, so it can't be downloaded to server. Developer said, that it's because size of this file is bigger than size of mainline eras, so i've got a question: how big the limit is and can it be increased, so file can be uploaded on server?

Limit is not related to size of mainline.

But what is it related to? And can it be changed?

Your add-on is probably too large because of big image files. Try to compress them with optipng to decrease the file size.

It is 100mb. Sound files are another common reason for size.

Have you tried to compress the music? The Opus codec (which supersedes Vorbis and Speex) should lead to smaller file sizes than the lossless FLAC codec.
