Can't install Add-ons

Post by Eugen » May 2nd, 2018, 5:58 pm

Hello, I can't install add-ons. It always says "A problem occured when trying to create files necessary to install this add-on." I've experienced this issue with both non-steam and steam version of the game (congrats for the Steam version btw :) ). Thank you for any help.

Are you on windows10?
Maybe it's related to OneDrive. Get rid of that, maybe.

Thanks for the tip, I'm using Win 10 and there was some mysterious problem with my OneDrive not a long time ago (I wasn't able to upgrade it). I'll try to fix it and than disable it (now I can't even access my OneDrive :D ). Thanks again.

Is your folder with wesnoth writable? (not read only? not admin protected?)
C:\Users\Admin\Documents\My Games\Wesnoth1.14
maybe you installed it as admin account and now using some non-admin account?
These are just my noob ideas.. i'm not really sure if this can be the problem.. hopefuly some more advanced people here give you better advice...

My Win10 puts addons to:

C:\Users\Zap-Zarap\Documents\MyGames\Wesnoth1.14\data\add-ons\...

No admin account :)

My installation process:
- download from sourceforge as user "Zap-Zarap" (non-admin)
- click (as Zap-Zarap) on the installer package
- now system asks me for admin password
- Wesnoth-stuff is installed in my User\Zap-Zarap\Documents thing.
