Network Communication Error

Post by Lord-Knightmare »

For the past few days I am unable to upload add-ons to the server. Every time I upload, I get a message saying Network Communication Error.
I able to download add-ons and update them just fine. I also suffer no problems visiting the MP server.
I'm using Mac OS 10.5.8 and wesnoth 1.9.8
Thanks in advance.

Yesterday I successfully uploaded (actually: updated) an add-on for both 1.8 (1.8.6) and 1.9 (1.9.8 and trunk).

Could you attach output from stderr?

Forgive me, but I failed to understand you. Could you please be more specific, as to where this output is or might be?

It's all there!

No, You guys didn't understand me properly, when the network communication error message shows up, the game does not crash so, the only crash output(s) I found were when Wesnoth automatically crashed. (Bug, already reported.)

I think the problem had something to do with my internet connection, (the government recently repaired their underground cables) so I think I should call my ISP.

The point is that 'Network Communication Error' tells me only that apparently some invalid WML was received and there were further details printed to stderr.

This happened to me a while a go, and I found out my _server.pbl file was missing a closing quote somewhere.

For example:

Code: Select all

There is no stderr log on Mac computers. The OP would have to open his Console application and look for error messages there.

Thanks a lot! Following this, I checked my pbl file and found the missing closing quote. Thank you all for your time and help.
I guess the problem is solved now. I can't upload right now cause I just started making a long scenario, so the Tale of Crelanu is gonna be uploaded later today.
