timing of message disappearance

Post by itota »

this is not a bug, but a problem(or a suggestion).

in-game messages disappear when mouse button is pushed. i often click too early and message disappears before starting to read it.
i want it to be changed to the timing when the pushed mouse button is released so that careless players (like me) can also read the whole message.

thanks in advance.

Yep, happens to (almost) all of us.
A "half-a-second-click-away-blocker" and other things have already been suggested.
See, for example, this thread: http://forums.wesnoth.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=29678

i didnt notice the thread. thanks, norbert.

the half-a-secnod-click-away-blocker is a good idea.
if half-a-... is not enough, mayby the combination of it and event changing(i mentioned above) will be a better solution.

I don't think they are changing something for careless players.... If they do, I want my units to have twice the hitpoints.

Although it's not really a solution, because it would be a massive pain to add this to all messages in the mainline campaigns, I'd like to point out that a "minimum displayed time" is possible in WML that keeps a message from being clicked away for the specified amount of time. Although, this has to be done for each and every individual message, so as I started out by saying,it isn't really much of a solution.
