0xc0000005 initialization error
"0xc0000005 initialization error" Pretty much something like this shows up whenever I try to launch the game (I might have missed a couple of zeros). What is this caused by and how do I fix it? I am currently using Windows XP (the other topic I put in here was from a different computer). I am also using Wesnoth 1.8.3, I have reinstalled the game twice to fix the error as well as restart the computer. I tried to look for stderr.txt but even with the search (which is pretty bad) I could not find it.
Thanks in advance,
-Sniei

Re: 0xc000000 initialization error
stderr is in your wesnoth installation folder
Hm, you could try to get and post a backtrace, will make it much more likely that someone cares about the issue. Get gdb.exe or mingw and launch wesnoth with it. http://hamsterrepublic.com/ohrrpgce/ind ... ndows.html
I'm also on win xp and 1.8 runs fine however.

But post the content of your stderr.txtsomeone at the top of the page which I've linked to wrote:GDB is the GNU Debugger. It can be used to get information about crashes, including backtraces, which can be very helpful to the programmers when you report bugs.

Re: 0xc0000005 initialization error
I'm having this problem in the latest version.
Re: 0xc0000005 initialization error
Frozenbyte: as Anonymissimus told Sniei, post your stderr.txt; also, what OS are you running BfW on? And which latest version, the stable one (1.10.6) or the development one (1.11.5)?
I'm not really around any more, but you can find me in TvTropes.
