Wow! This second one (Aphera) is great! Maybe you can shade a bit more the shell shape in order to make the transition with the clothes more wise but it's up to you and a matter of likes.

Aphera's teeth... it looks like as if she was biting her lips, or she just has a bit rabbitish teeth, I don't really know, but it doesn't look ok to me.

I don't agree with you, the incisors (I mean the frontal teeth) are longer and when you're not smiling but only having the mouth quite open they look pretty similar to this ones.
Have a look at this model I have found on the internet:

Aphera's cheeks look like Grand Moff Tarkin's. Maybe it's just the shading, but it looks like her cheeks are really sunken in. At least <her> right one.

I'm clearly with perseo on the teeth.

As for uncleshelby and Tarkin, seems a bit of an exaggeration, but I guess I could smooth it out (BTW I never caught that guy's name; to me he was just the evil, elderly, Nazi Commander).

Moving on, I've got Exanora's brother. He's not supposed to be General Asskicker, but he's also not supposed to be waifish & blue-blooded. Hopefully, it is believable that he is related to the gal with the tower shield and bad foreshortening.

[joke]So, this family has genetic predisposition for tower shields?[/joke]
But seriously, they indeed look related.

Be careful, in my family we wear different clothes each one XD. Maybe is the hair or maybe are the eyes but they look pretty similar. But I will say that he is her son. :lol2:

They wear similar clothes and shields not because it was in their DNA, but because it is their uniform.

Speaking of uniforms, this is a draft of the enemy side. This particular one is a generic nobody, but if I can get a system, it will extend to others. The tartan thing is not really cut&paste, but it is maybe too similar. Effectively mapping a texture to a pseudo-surface in all raster methods is not something I know how to do, and most tutorials I've found that sound relevant are for signatures or some Mecha crap.

EDIT: This is the fruits of another way of dealing with the pattern.

Both use the "Clone" tool in GIMP, there is probably some equivalent in Photoshop. First one was direct clone of a tartan pattern and two "perspective" tool-treated variants, then some half-hearted touch-ups with paintbrush. Second method, Rebel-1b.png, was done by painting the cloth like normal, with a normal paintbrush, then using Clone in overlay mode. Second method was much faster, and doesn't have as many really obvious glitches, but does look more fake to me.

(Slightly off-topic)
Out of the hero sprites, exanites-low has an opaque shadow. I'm sure it's not intentional?

No, it is accidental. Will be fixed. Thanks.

Doofus, I remember your work from few years ago, and I must say that the difference between what I remember and what I see now is simply amazing.

Thanks, szopen. I cringe at some earlier stuff, but at least it was a few years ago.

Danteren's grip on his sword is rather strange to me- it's like the sword has a bend towards the camera where he grabs it, because of the angling of his hand.

Hrm. I think I see what you mean, if one assumes he has a tight grip on it. Maybe a dangling ring finger or something could make it more clear.
