Re: artisticdude's Art: Mutant Termagant Barmaids!
Perhaps I have finally found my hidden talent: directing questions back to people.
@artisticdude & @francophone:
AFAIK, GPL means that derivative works also need to be GPL, therefore you will need to work it out amongst yourselves.
All I did was just some polishing here and there, and that could qualify as derivative at most.
For non-english-speakers (like myself): if artisticdude's original was GPL then my version also has to be GPL.
If she was dressed more like a noble, I could imagine a campaign that sends a knight on errand to win the heart of the slim princess, but when the knight returns the princess has become fat (but Wesnoth campaign makers seem to be too serious for this kind of thing).
Or, with some adjustments, she could become a male sumo wrestler.
I remember a Japanese faction from some time ago, but no idea how active it is.
Edit: one of the things I have been considering, is an upgrade to shyde, based on Circus Fat Lady, needs wings added and a different pose.

I beg to differ...Artisticdude wrote:I don't think anyone wants/needs/will use (a fat barmaid)
While pondering ideas for a weird-horror-themed faction, it occurred to me that big things are sometimes only big because there's something inside them...

On the contrary, I think there aren't enough sprites with different body morphologies. Something like a fat aristocrat/nobleman or woman would make a lot of senseartisticdude wrote: And on that note, here's the more-or-less finished fat whatever baseframe. Re: artisticdude's Art: Mutant Termagant Barmaids!
i wonder if anyone remembers those?

there you have it, the lev3 could be a noblewoman.
now, i hope we will draw something soon, or else we will end up discussing politics : )
(oh, and i need to bring back my own thread some time, otherwise i sound like a hypocrite)

I want to use in my campaign. But I'm going to shrink their hands. Even obese it can not have hands of troll anyway.artisticdude wrote:Just for the record though, the sprite he edited isn't in the core game, hasn't been officially uploaded to the add-on server yet, and isn't explicitly listed as a potential contribution to mainline, so technically it doesn't fall under the GPL unless it is unambiguously stated that it is licensed under the GPL.dugi wrote:The game is under GPL, obviously you can reuse it...
Of course, obviously I'm licensing my sprite under the GPL (indeed, I'll say it here and now: unless I explicity state otherwise, everything drawn by me in this thread is licensed under the GPL), but it's always good to double-check before using an image that you aren't sure is GPL'ed.
And on that note, here's the more-or-less finished fat whatever baseframe. I don't think anyone wants/needs/will use this, but who knows...
A obese princess would be even better for my scenario. But I guess there is not it in stock.

Nope, no Wesnoth stuff this time, just something I'm working on for the Liberated Pixel Cup competition over at OGA.
Note that I used the base sprites provided in the existing LPC asset collection here to create these sprites.
I might try translating that ghoul/zombie thingie into a Wesnoth sprite; I think it'd be pretty rad.

Re: artisticdude's Art: Mutant Termagant Barmaids!
An Inventory of Gruesome Bits™, brought to you courtesy of the weekly Pixel Joint challenge (create an inventory with 8 items for a new/original adventure game.).
After all, one does not simply play an adventure game without gruesome bits, complete with dangling nerves and blood vessels and random unidentifiable strings.
Left to right, top to bottom:
- Human heart
- Eyeball
- Human brain
- Misc. mammel tongue
- Misc. mammal fang
- Human stomach
- Grub/maggot/worm thing
- Human skull.
They're a bit small to be used as Wesnoth icons, I suppose, but feel free to pillaging them if you think you can use 'em.

Oh god, not these again. I'm gonna be sick. They are pretty awesome though, more than can be said for my entry. Oh, and I noticed you're using DB's palate, like everyone else.
My spritework can be seen here.

Perhaps it sounds stupid but... What is a DB's palate?

Well, I am using one of Dawnbringer's palettes, but not the one everyone else is using. The one I'm using here was concocted by Dawnbringer for the last Iso-ology collab, whereas the one everyone else (including Dawnbringer himself) is using is "DB's 16", which is more multi-purpose and is widely considered one of the best 16-color palettes available.Frogger5 wrote:Oh, and I noticed you're using DB's palate, like everyone else.
DB's palate = Dawnbringer's palette. Dawnbringer is a fellow member of http://www.pixeljoint.com, where both Frogger5 and I have accounts. He's a master at making pixel art palettes, and one of his most popular and and well-known palettes is a 16-color palette affectionately known as "DB's 16".perseo wrote:Perhaps it sounds stupid but... You should've made them 60x60 so they could be used in Wesnoth I'd love to use that skull.
