aware that it is more necessary to contribute animating existing units in the game, I can not deny it's more exciting to create new units. A few days ago I started with the idea of create a noble elven cavalry .......... what you think about the result?

Cool - but like the mainline units, don't be afraid to exaggerate the size of the rider compared with the horse. Currently his head, and sword, look a little dinky compared to the mainline equivalents. But it's excellent work. I continue to be impressed by your skill, and hope that you will consider contributing to some project or other with original sprites.

Might I suggest the Kalifa from the Extended Era http://www.wesnoth.org/units/1.6/C/era_balanced_ee.html ? Noy has been search for a good artist for them for YEARS, and they really deserve good work. But you would, ideally, have to match mainline style and technique for them...

This looks as if the rider sits on the butt of the horse instead on the back. Either move him right, or make the horse longer.

good observer! i moved the rider 2 pixel right and 1 down, it looks better. the option to enlarge the horse is less apropiate.

I'd suggest also having the rider hold that spear either at a higher gripping point(so move the spear downwards) or at a bit of an angle

The present spear seems to have a lot less character than the spear in the first version of this unit. I think this is partially because it's straight up and down (which can be a bit boring) but also because it's lost the ornamentation that version had.

look again, the first 'version' was a sword..
still that's an idea - you might want to try giving the spear a somewhat non-standard tip, maybe indeed something similar to the swords blade rather than the normal leaf

Late to the thread, but that looks awesome in game. I think i would rather have your style, since they feel as epic as the portraits. Then again, art shift, ouch.

Ah yes, rumours of my death have been greatly exaggerated.

I've suggested to rhyging5 that he either help upgrade the merman brawler sprites for "Dead Water",
http://www.wesnoth.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=28080

or help upgrade the character sprites in "the south guard"
http://units.wesnoth.org/trunk/C/The_South_Guard.html

Both would be helpful. It would be cool if you guys could encourage him to take those on. Those are things we have openings for in the core game, and I think he's good enough to do it.
